It has happened to me before. So it is not a once in a lifetime thing.

How I fixed it was I edited the name a tiny bit, set the unit for the trigger then edit it back.

The trigger editor removes coloring marks from the parameter names. As long as the parameter matches what is in the list box EXACTLY, it should be OK. If you can come up with a concrete example where this fails every time, please let me know.

That doesn't really help very much. Please tell me what is listed in the list box for that unit and what exactly you typed, as well as what the actual name for the unit is.

huh....the actual name is Terran Dropship.
what list box? i didnt alter any properties besides the invicible thingy.
i believe that is all.

i typed:
(overlapping back)(white) Airplane (overlapping front)(light green) Airplane

with a few spaces here and there to make it overlap.

OK, I was able to reproduce this. The problem isn't overlapping characters, it's having spaces at the end of the unit name. One workaround would be to put an invisible comma or period at the end of the spaces (you should be doing this anyway to perfect the overlaps, it's much easier).
