Yes it has. I know that at least I did it before you, though it was most likely done before me also.

Not like that, but there are others. I believe they put one in the hall of fame.

Doesn't exactly look like ramp because of the crapiness of 2D starcraft terrain pinch.gif

The 'real' ramps should go behind isometric walls, but in this case which starcraft is 2D ... is impossible.

Though that is good, I think it would look much better if it were the same size and style as the ones that come with StarEdit, just facing towards the northwest and northeast directions. Yours looks akward because it comes to two points, one south and one north. If you made it so that it blended into the wall/cliff face a bit better I'd like it more.
This is Br0sT's backwards ramp, which BeeR feels can be created easily and that it is also very common. It was not put into the H.O.F. as Fortune thought. This is the only one that I have seen on the site until yours.

Oh yea I saw that ramp, but it dont look like it comes down that much, it just looks as it its the same level as the dirt, thats why I created mine, I'll try to make my ramp face north west/east then, Ill also try to make it come down more...

is it possible to do brosts backwards ramp in badlands terrain?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Incinerate_IV on 2005-02-25 at 20:42:50
Of corse all you need to do is connected with the end of the bridge doodad...

Wow. Just wow. That looks absolutely amazing. The low level ledges bordering the heights of the cliff make that probably one of the best screenshots I have ever seen. Absolutely incredible Br0sT. I consider that your best piece of "art" thus far in your young career of SC terraining. Again, very nice job and keep up the good work.

You could make hils if you connected the bottom with the top, with a little slope on each side. It would be tricky to make it look like it popped out of the rest of the terrain though, other than looking like a dirt patch.

Hey could someone make a pyramid-like ramp? Like for instance, use badlands, and do the ramps from bottom of our 2-d perspective to the top. Do this by doing dirt to high dirt, high dirt to high temple, high temple down to high dirt, high dirt to dirt.

..........dirt here
....____/````\___ backwards ramp to high dirt
...|........./``\........| backwards ramp to high temple
...|........|......|.......| high temple terrain
...|.........\..../........| normal ramp to high dirt
...|_____.....____|high dirt terrain
............./.....\........ normal ramp down to dirt.

The text in gray is just a "duhism", or something that is somewhat obvious but needs to be shown because some people can't get it right. Anyways, could someone create this pyramid like structure using the backwards ramps? It's like going over a mountain and using less linear isometic perspective biggrin.gif

Edit: I don't really mean "normal" ramps. I mean those fancy / \ like ramps where you can come into them from the left OR the right. wink.gif

I hate to say it but Moogle kinda beat you to that one. He has used that in several of hims maps, however i do not think they were released.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by FaZ- on 2005-02-27 at 18:38:30
If they were never released then that makes this creation original. If without help someone reproduces Einstein's nuclear physics work without any knowledge of the work already done, is that person not just as smart as Einstein? Or is that person worse because he did something later?

If you have any screens from these maps please attach them in any reply. I would love to see something done as well as this, no offense to Moogle of course.

The badlands bridge is made up of asphalt, not temple.

To blend the dirt with high dirt, why not use the ramp instead of the bridge-to-dirt?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Incinerate_IV on 2005-02-28 at 19:21:45
Well for backwords ramps there isnt any choice....
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Neiji on 2005-03-01 at 17:44:54
I know, but ppl use bridge to dirt with frontwards... (is that a word?)
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Incinerate_IV on 2005-03-01 at 17:48:39
Lol thats what spell check is for!

Hmmm, well maby you got a point, but I guess Its just personal reasons..

I know I use ramp to blend high dirt to dirt, but personally I think they both look pretty much the same.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Neiji on 2005-03-05 at 10:22:25
If you look closely, you can actually see taht. And, it doesn't look really natural because you don't have blocks in nature, but I guess it doesn't matter because I don't play maps for the terrain; i play for the game...
