•The eruption of Mount St. Helens last year

•The Tsunami at Christmas

•Recent small Earthquakes in Arkansa and maybe Maryland, some places that rarely, if never, get Earthquakes

•A recent Earthquake in California

•The Mudslides in California

•The torrential downpour of rain thats killed at least 9 people in California

•A town in Texas finally recieves snow after over 100 years snow-free

•An explosion in Outer Space, if Earth had been within 100 light years of it, we would be gone

What the heck is happening? All these disasters and other things have all happened within like 6 months of each other. Some people believe its a sign to the end of the world. What do yall think?

Natural disasters happen all the time, I wouldnt worry about it. Hmm though if we achieved world peace then I would be worried, because isn't that a sign of the apocalypse?

"We are headed toward an apocalypse of our own creation."
--I don't know who said it.

Don't earthquakes happen all the time in Cali?

I think the Earth is warning us that a nuclear war is inevitable. All those natural disasters/weathers are signs of mother nature's uneasiness with that fact.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Nozomu on 2005-02-24 at 22:30:03
I think you're personifying nature. It's your inference that natural disasters have some kind of significance that is leading you to believe that they do. It's kind of like wishful thinking in that sense. You're reading too much into things.

If "mother nature" existed, wouldn't she have pu$$y-whipped the human race into submission already for abusing her so much?

I'd say Satan's doing it. Perhaps a warning?

That one isn't even dealing with Earth. Plus, I've never heard anything about that. Maybe it's just so unsignificant to anyone alive that it hasn't even made the news? And if you think about it, have these disasters even changed the Earth? Sure, a couple of feet of mud fell down in Cali, and some islands got flooded in that place with the tsunamis. It's not like something that pushed the Earth into space thousands of miles that will change the climate of the Earth so we'll all die. Just try to remember the disasters that happened last year or before that. Not that serious.

•The eruption of Mount St. Helens last year

It didn't really erupt, it pretty much just smoked a bit. OR steamed or whatever. Volcanoes go off all the time. And since Mt. St. Helens didn't do anything for like 25 years means it can't do anything again forever? Blah.

Natural occurrences happen all the time. That's why the Earth is considered alive; if it just stood there it would just be a rock, not the romanticized personification it is today.

To say that natural and inevitable parts of geology like volcanic eruptions and tsunamis are a reaction from Earth itself is like saying the dinosaurs were wiped out because they did something wrong.

Then again, what stops us from being hit by some huge meteor?

Well, we could send some oil drillers off into space and drill a hole into the meteor and blow the poo.gif out of it

Like Agent Smith from The Matrix said, humans are a disease, a virus. We're killing the planet, so it's fighting back. If we hadn't censored.gif ed everything up so badly, like making species extinct, building buildings, and roads all over... using up all the resources in an area, and completly changing the eco system there... Humans suck. kwasny.gif

No, you suck, Nuke. For using my Center/Color for all your posts. But not my color, tan.

And the only thing stopping a meteor from hitting us is that space is too big. A meteor in space that's on a path for Earth is like... Really really small compared to the universe.

Yeah, those events are called "natural disasters". Other things that try to tell us the world is coming to an end are the endless tornado seasons, the hurricanes of doom, the blizzards up north, the heat waves of the sun, and water from clouds, which we call rain.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Nozomu on 2005-02-26 at 17:47:34
The problem is, people are jumping to conclusions without evidence. If it can be claimed that God or Satan is doing this to us, it can just as easily and credibly be claimed that aliens are doing it to us while filming a reality TV show about Earth.

A nuclear war is always inevitable, as long us people. Have nukes, there will always be a nuclear war that might happens. But, someday, a nuke will go off somewhere on the Earth, someday. After that days comes. There will be totally maddness, across nation to nation, People will be running into Nuclear Shelters or Nuclear Bunkers. But, I either bet it's one of the Middle East Countries or USA who starts the Nuclear War.

Again, I'm going with Nozumu's n' Cheeze's PoV's. wink.gif

Without climatical or occurence patterns of such events aren't made, I'll have to go with'em.
But that these things are happening more often, they are. Perhaps it has more to do with our tampering with the ecossytems more than we should to. A good example of it in the negative, imao, is the backing off of Bush from signining the Kyoto Environmental agreement. Another major blooper from the current U.S. admin. A role model is role model, even in the bad moments. *Shudders*

They're the same thing.

I just hope that the nuclear test made by the nuke tech nations, such as France, wouldn't mess too much with the equilibrium of the tectonic plates and surrounding environments. ermm.gif
And that's why I fear the current N.Korea's state that much. They could do their nuke testing without the proper safety conditions and it could turn into another Chernobyl disaster.

i think that mother nature is trying to tell us that the world is gonna go to hell if we dont pick it up. We need protection program that ban nukes and radation.

Those already exist. And this is the U.S. source I'm refering to.
The U.N. also has a NPT (Non-Proliferation Threaty) part. Wich is related to the one above. Now don't ask me wich came to existance 1st, since the U.S. is one of the main powers nation's within the U.N. wink.gif

Unfortunetly, I think effective/efficient agreement (aka threaty) would be the key here. Not if it exists or not. I guess that the same could be applied to the Kyoto one... ermm.gif
