Staredit Network -> UMS Production -> Battlecraft Madness!

This is a fusion of two maps I like playing - Super Smash Bros Melee and Battlecraft. In this one, you progress thru 5 levels based on your kill count and continuously spawn creatures at your base, and you can mass attack them to any other player's base or the middle. HOWEVER, unlike SSBM you get to choose what type of unit you are spawning, so the strategy is more like Battlecraft where you have to know what units are good against others. I've been messing with it in testing, and it is going to be very fast-paced so hopefully some pro's will surface if it gets a good following. uberwoot.gif

As I mentioned in the ideas section, I could REALLY use help balancing out the unit damage, armor, and hp amounts. Here's da units I'm using (updated):

Level 1 (start)
Zergling, hydralisk, infested terran (!), ultralisk, marine, zealot.

Level 2 (200 kills - or whatever)
Goliath, ghost, dragoon, vulture, firebat, reaver.

Level 3 (500 kills - or whatever)
Fenix (zealot), Raynor (marine), Montag (firebat), Stukov (ghost), archon, devouring one (zergling), Fenix (dragoon), Warbringer (reaver).

Level 4 (1000 kills )
Infested Duran, wraith, mutalisk, scout, corsair, battlecruiser.

Level 5 (1500 kills )
Kozansky (wraith), Artanis (scout), guardian, Hyperion (BC), Kerrigan (ghost), devourer, Schezar (goliath), Tassadar/Zeratul (archon).

To keep with Battlecraft strategy, wraiths will have a stronger ATG, scouts will have a stronger ATA, and of course mutas and bcs will do equal damage to air and ground.

The map is made and the triggers are almost done. Starforge is incredible...this would have taken me weeks in SCXE to do.

Here's a screenie of the map so far, showing the masser and first level chooser.

Oh cool, Another mass attack game...Yay, I don't think there should be a ban in mass attacks, The host could just ban the person that is killing them...Bad idea...

well, when it started out i was just going to balance the units in SSBM and then protect it, but when i looked at the triggers i saw a lot of potential for a more complex map. THIS IS NOT EVOLVES ... just a lot like it oops.gif never played it so it actually is coincidental (anyway, mine is more flexible so the strategy is different)

since it is teams of 2, i am requiring 3 people to ban. everybody gets a ban they can move to the beacons at the bottom of the "control area". the idea there is that for games of 4 or more, there is often a lagger that won't leave. this way everyone else can ban and then reorganize the teams

i also put an ursadon petting zoo at the bottom just below the banner tongue.gif

i think this has already been done in maps like "Golems" and things like that. try to think of some more unique features. i would give you some but there arent many things you can add to maddness maps.

Golems? Evolves? Oh poo.gif.

I thought the original golems map was where you make a unit and use it or something. Never played it but I saw a reference to it on one of the other SEN forums.

I went through a lot of the maps in the database (and pretty much everything I saw on bnet) and never saw a mass attack game that had this kind of strategy. Well, if it turns out to be a clone of something out there, at least I can say mine was made from scratch. If nothing else it's a guaranteed unrigged SSBM.

The only tips i have for you on this map is:

1. Make sure the player's base isnt hard/ Or to easy to kill
2. None of they players are rigged to beat another person
3. And finally all the unit's are perfectly balanced.

The good thing about this concept is that nobody can be rigged, since each player selects their unit to spawn and the bases are essentially equal. That's actually why I'm making this, because I got so sick of people going into the other maps and rigging them. Besides, this way it's more strategic even if it isn't an entirely new idea.

Current unit details are here. Could you have a look and tell me if it's balanced? I really want to make this right before I release it.
