well im making a civ game since i have nothing else to do. its made from scratch, no copying. im redoing everything. also its going to use a turn system. instead of building units. you build barracks or any other factory near it, and every turn you can select which unit you want to build.
i havent figured it out yet, eaither you get civs per factory or you get gas per factory to buy units. some help plz?
but also aonther twist. if you put 4 supply depots in a tigth square it becomes a "city" or CC. if 4 CCs toghter its a scince facility "metropolis". towns(depots) = 1 per, cities = 56 per, metros = 25 per.

so its an advantage.
and also the only way to get a Scince facility is build 4 CCs so that way you need to merge 4 before you can ugrade past level 1, and some other upgrades as well, ghost and such.

and ideas? i was thinking you can choose specifically for each city...but that would take forever if you had like 100 cities....
i think another way is to burrow units under or something, using a tranport near the city you can push "choose" and then you get this menu and you choose a unit that you can build or "researched" and it makes a zerg unit depeneding on the unit you want. you can change anytime.

will that work or will there be bugs?

Sounds awesome, I actually thought about something similar before.

About your gas or civ, i think the gas idea is better, since its easier to understand and more convinient.

Recommendations:
- You can have city specials
- You can generals you can recruit

Well, just try to exceed the location limit too quickly (how i hate it when it happens mellow.gif )

i dont need much locations...
just one to check the building and to check if you got a cluster of 4, and give it to computer. then i need one to give moeny. then another one to give units back. ten go to next player until all players done.

i liek the generals and special's idea. thx!


also a new idea by me. terrain advantage. valleys = more income, but you are boxed in...and they can bomb you.
mountains = less money, but high defense.
water = more money.
regular = normal.

these will take mroe triggers of course, and when i say water, i mean the edge of it, not on it, silly!

what level is water? low? and what level is the edge of water? i heard it was high.

or i can have a line of observers and when it checks if it sees obs then it counts it as water.

I'm still not too sure how you will know if you have 4 supply depots together tho, because doesn't locations always centre onto the most bottom left unit?

So are you gona centre on supply depot, if there isn't 4 in location, give units to computer, then recentre on next one,then do the same then at the end give the supply depots back?

Well, i think that might be a slow process tho and you have to do each player individually because if you do all the players together, at the end you cant define which computer owned supply depot originally belonged to who. Which in addition, would make this process a lot slower (because you have to do each player seperately).

ahg...100% remade ok? lol

and screwed. its easy, i just need switches, and once a plkayer is completeed, then it sets p2 swtriches.

also when it centers on bottom left i will creat observers, so itll make a a sqaure, i belive i need 9...maby more, depeneding how much i need. then i'll kill except one and center it then kkill all buildings and thae last observer. then i creat it.
