StarFire, Emerald, any other patcher, I have found doesn't work. You have to extract the patch from the application bundle*, then rename it 'Starcraft Mac Patch' in your 'Starcraft Files' folder. TBL Editor isn't a map editing utility, Cambrian is for CHK hex editing. I'm working with Deathknight on 3PE (3rd Party Editor) that will come with 3PP (3rd Party Patch). Info at http://gf.staredit.net/

*How to extract the patch:
Right/CTRL click on the application, and select 'Show Package Contents' find the MPQ file inside, and copy it somewhere else.

ya thats why staredit emerald is kinda crappy, ususally you want a second copy on ur hard disk to use staredit emerald.... because of the effect you listed... i dont know the exact file that does it but i got rid of it by just reinstalling starcraft... also you should only be able to openb up any staredit period if your usen classic environment to do so, blizzard was lazzy and didnbt make a carbon version of staredit like they did for starcraft. Also, thats weird that starfire edit didnt work for you, try going striaght to the website for starfire edit, thats where i got my copy of it...

lol reinstalling sc... i wanna tell u something funny rhiom. i didnt want to reinstall sc (figuring i would have to move my campaigns, maps, and stuffs) so i decided to share froim my old imac and take a copy of staredit from there... i needed storm for the edit and storm for the sc (dif ones) so i ended up doing things till i finally got one (i have thousands of broken starcraft folders on my imac...dunno why) with storm, aded a space to the storms and put the new staredit and storms in my folder and viola! it worked! then i did what nucealer rabbit said (slightly modded) and i got starfire to work! --dont worry, you didnt have to understand what i just said, it was a stumper! biggrin.gif

and thx but i got starfire to work by cutting some wires and twitching wit em and so on! (my expresion) smile.gif

Most patcher programs don't seem to remove the patch when type quit. That's the reason you crash when you play SC. You should probably have a folder devoted entirely to StarEdit, and just alias the unchanged files, and have true copies of the changed ones. That's what I have.
