Staredit Network -> StarForge -> Error when starting
Report, edit, etc...Posted by PearS on 2005-02-27 at 19:37:32
I just installed Starforge 2.2 and both of those things required to make it run. When I try to open the program i get this error:

"Component 'Mscomctl.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid'

Any ideas?

Try uninstalling an reinstalling your copy of starforge.

Ya I downloaded both of thoes things. I googled the file that it said was missing and put it in system32. Now it says some other file is missing. So i'm just going to google them all until it works I guess.

Ya I did that and now it is working. Problem solved =D. I guess this can be locked now.

Just so you know, if you had read the faq and troubleshooting pinned above you wouldn't have needed to make this thread.

By the way Puni...please don't suggest a something unless you know it will fix the problem. Uninstalling and reinstalling Starforge, if done improperly, will cause more problems than it will fix.
