Yea, I have seen ball's of lighting, There just caused because there's not enough oxygen in the one spot it form's, So it just make's a ball, And it usually dies out before hitting any thing. But it's rare to see them actually hit earth, And I would love to see some screen shots.

[center]"BALL LIGHTNING does not look like "lightning." Instead, it usually appears as a mysterious glowing sphere which drifts horizontally through the air. It is typically the size of a grapefruit, but sometimes appears as small as a pea, or as large as a bus. It sometime hovers at a few feet or tens of feet altitude, but can also bounce along the ground. It usually lasts only a few seconds, but sometimes persists much longer. Various colors of "BL" have been seen, sometimes it changes colors, and sometimes it has internal structures such as glowing layers or moving sparks. Sometimes it disappears silently, other times it explodes with extreme violence.

At one time BL was thought to be extremely rare, but this was because most BL eyewitnesses feared ridicule and wouldn't come forward. In reality, five percent of the population has seen BL close up. Today most researchers agree that it is real, yet its nature is still highly controversial, and no sensible theories yet exist to explain it. (For example, BL cannot be hot plasma, since plasma would be much lighter than air and would immediately rise like fire, or like a balloon.)" http://amasci.com/tesla/ballgtn.html
I believe ball lightning to be a form of plasma.

That's the coolest image I could find.
I was just reading more about this, and I saw that one of the first people to research ball lightning was killed while doing so. He had a big metal pole, and he was struck by lightning. Well, what'd he think would happen!?
My mom says she saw ball lightning when she was a kid. She says it floated through a window, and burned a hole in the floor of the cabbin she was in. Awesome!

There are lots of information on the site that nuclearrrabitt posted (LINK). That website is awesome for all things about physics and electricity.

I have never seen ball lighting and it is very rare. You are pretty lucky if you ever see ball lightning. It is still being debated because not much solid proof has been found but scientists are sure it exists in some way or another.

- Visit the link I posted, I got hooked with all this physiccs stuff when I went there, I'm 13 tongue.gif

Ball lightning is not fake, it is real. It happens when when something breaks the circuit. like in an ac current. When something cuts it off it dies but there is still that little charge that comes out. that is your ball of lightning. I guess it is kind of phenomenon. It ain't that common. Kinda like UFO's, Lockness monster, and a good KFC meal.

Yes a good tasting KFC meal IS rare...
