Most of you know about the armies game right? Well in this map you get to do pretty much the same things.
-Hire more soldiers
-Buy weapons(or training attack or defence soldiers and giving them the weapon you buy)
-Get armor upgrades(using the upgrade buildings such as an Engineering Bay)
-Buy Spy Tools
-Buy Sentry Tools
-Choose to Attack, Spy, and Sabotage
I have the ideas planned out and everything. I just need to know the fallowing to get everything completely setup and ready to be made:
-How to take in-game screenshots(never understood how)
-Since I'm Terran, I need to know the Protoss and Zerg buyable weapons and stuff
-The need to know what all the upgrades to seige technology and fortification are
Once it's done, I'm going to need some help testing it. It's a 4 player map so I need 3 testers. Also, some ideas and a little feedback will be appreciated.

2. All weapons are the same. I'm Protoss yet I can still purchase Zerg and Terran stuff. The only time Race comes into play is with the bonuses they recieve to armor or attack.

But one thing, don't you think this map would be a bit dull? If you're just upgrading and making units, then how is that any different from a melee game?
Well it's different by a few things:
-You have barriers around your base, so you have to move the chooser(haven't decided what unit it should be yet) to the beacon to attack and your attack units will be moved to the enemy territory and attack anyway you would in melee.
-Just like attacking, you can send a spy to your enemy's territory and see what stuff they have
-And Sabotage, you have to move the chooser to the kind of sabotage operation you want to use
-and to get minerals, you have to make one of your untrained soldiers get a fusion cutter(SCV) to mine minerals to use to buy things(you will start with 10 minerals to buy a fusion cutter)
EDIT: When ever I go to buy weapons, I can only buy terran weapons. So I assume that when you choose Protoss or Zerg, you buy different weapons. And maybe a moderator or administrator, such as Yoshi, would hopefully know what those upgrades are....
ANOTHER EDIT: Actually, I took out the rule of buying a miner to get minerals. Instead, you will start out with one.

Lol I was thinking of doing that. But I wouldn't be able to include a few games. Plus it would take up a lot of space so, I just want to complete the main parts that I need to complete. Then I'll see if I should add an arcade.

Here are some extra things that will be added that you guys should know about:
-Sabotage missions are:
Terran
-Nuclear Missile: you will get the amount of gas required to build a science facility, a covert ops, and the nuclear silo for your command center, and the SCV that comes with it, will die after you finish those buildings
-Blind: you will get a medic and will attempt to blind any unit/detecter of your choice
-Irradiate/EMP: you will get a science vessel and then you may go and either irradiate or EMP Missile one of your opponents units and stuff
Zerg
-Infestation: when you choose this, you will get a Queen and you can choose to use one of her abilities on enemies
-Plague/Dark Swarm: you will get a defiler and use it's abilities on others
-Nydus: you will get the amount of gas required to make a nydus canal to invade enemy territory
Protoss
-Air Raid: in this one, up to 3 scouts will appear and you can use them to raid your enemies base, but it will cost minerals to get these scouts
-Freeze: you get to use an arbiter and attempt to freeze the enemy units
-Mind Control/Maelstrom: when attempting this, you will get a Dark Archon and will have the ability to mind control units or Maelstrom enemies
-Ability to surrender if your losing
-There will be a Terran armory, Protoss armory, and a Zerg armory. You will get to use these depending on what race you are
-During an attack, you will have the ability to retreat if the battle isn't going so well
-And if anyone decides to, they may make this a team battle simply by clicking diplomacy and changing the teams around
I'm still thinking about adding an arcade, but I will need to figure out some kind of trigger system for each game. But I'm open for ideas on those.

You should probably get the terrain done first

I'll keep that in mind, but the map is coming out good so far. And like I said before, if anyone has trigger system ideas for arcade games, I might put those in. And most of the locations are close to the buyable units. Once I get most of the units in place, I'll put the terrain barriers around them and the other players.
I think an arcade would be too distracting if the point of the map is a player vs. player war. The only time I would see such a distraction as acceptable if there's a lot of down time when players don't have much else to do, and even then you should avoid down time in your map anyway.

Hmm... I see. I haven't added it yet. So I don't think I should add now. Besides, it would be wasting more locations and triggers, making the map's progress even longer. So ya, I won't add one.

These are actually what things you'll be able to buy. The player's bases are made sort of like a melee map, but many things in this map are different from a melee map. I might post more screen shots soon. And my progress on the map has been updated in my signature. I completed the buyable units placement so thats why the bar was removed.
I have 2 questions:
1) How do the Floor Traps work? Do you have a hidden stock somewhere and then you move them to the locations you need?
2) How are you making the Kakaru stay in the same spot (constant ordering?)

Hmm... Let's see here....
1) Yes, there will be a hidden stock of both kinds of floor traps and buildings that have to do with things suchs as nuking and the nydus canal thing.
2) Yup, I'll make it stay in place, even if I have to make the location bigger

And the minerals for the other armories and the other buyable things, they haven't been changed because there are prices of things I'm not sure of. But I guess I'll just make up some prices. I only had enough time to get the prices for the terran weapons before the armies system got turned off. If anyone still remembers the prices, post them here please, I'll need those. Or I can wait 'till the army system gets turned back on. Either way, I'm going to need those prices soon.....I'll stop now lol. But I'll keep you guys posted on other things about the map.
I know the first few prices.
For weapons it is:
Fussion cutter: 10 min 10 strength
Gauss rifle: 25 min 20 strength
Flamethrower: 75 min 100 strength
Fragmentation Grenades: 250 min 500 strength(I think strenght is right)
No clue about the other weapons.
For Defence it was:
Carpace: 40 min 50 strength (or something like that, I know minerals are right.)
Infantry Armor: 75 min 100 strength
No clue for the rest.
Spy stuff and Sentry stuff I don't know (never bought that junk
.)
The training from unarmed to stuff I know.
Attack specialist: 25 min
Defence specialist: 25 min
Spy: 35 min
Sentry:35 min
Retrain Defence specialist to Attack specialist: 5
Retrain Attack specialist to Defence specialist: 5
That is about all I can think of, I don't know if you are going to do the training and stuff because then the weapons get hard to incorperate. Keep up the good work.

Okay, most of the map is done yay! Although, now I'm at the long boring part, the triggers. A little above one hundred locations were used so.... it'll take a while to finish the triggers. It turns out that I really didn't need any knowledge about the siege technology and the fortification upgrades. I'm still in need of testers. I already have 2 people wanting to test so that leaves one more person who's willing to help test it once it's done. Oh ya, there will also be up to 3 observers to come in and watch if they want to.
I hope it turns out to be a really great game. ALong with good laysout and designing. and i hope u use SOmthing new. it would be interesting to see somthing new
