does anyone have a chart or record of how to make the wireframes health turn blue orange red brown or glow. what are the numbers for it and teach me how does it work properly. on rexyrex post i couldnt understand what did it meant.
so can anyone explain how does it work with more detail?

I don't think there is a chart because the wireframes can vary. It changes on different tile sets. Just experiment a bit and you will get some cool colours. If you don't know how to do it. Open up starforge then go to the player settings place. (does not work for all units, works best with zerg units and archons) then select a unit. In the units settings you will see a small hp box and a bigger hp box. Put a number in the small box. In the bigger one put a smaller number than the one in the small box. There should be a tutorial about this...I'll look for it.

Ugh, people just don't get it.
The number in the left most box (Smaller one) can be anything that is equal to one or above it. ANYTHING.
I could put 1/10, and get a red wireframe.
If I put 20394823/10, I'd get the same red wireframe.
The above is not a real wireframe combination.

And remember to use unit sprites, they always are the same color, just in different spots. Unlike units, which might not even change colors every time. smile.gif

thanks rexyrex now i know why it changes colors ive been using ordinary units.
if i use a sprite will it crash the map or something like that.
i never used a sprite before

I said unit sprites.
Those are much more stable, and even have a folder showing which crash SC. (Wait, am I mixing them up?)

i think i made a new color descovery i found purple wireframe.

and also i used the sprites with out changing any of the properties of sprites.
i looked at the units that i made and i think i found blue on civilian 255/16 sprite
in the twilight terrain.

sometimes it rarely changes colors by restarting the game or something.
does this happens when there is to many units with diffrent colors or is it just becuace it feels like it.

I think I made it seem like you cannot add 1 in the small box. I was going to post an example of 1/100 for a cool orange wireframe for the ashworld terrain.

And sometimes the wireframe for someunits will not always be the same for every game and for each unit. For some units if you put 2/3 it might turn blue or it might turn red and yellow.

This is why you use sprites.

In the map making tricks archive topic, in the clan U forum, you can find an article written by me about how HP changes when you modify the value of the small textbox with sprites and unitsprites.

The SMALL BOX(SHP) can be ONLY TWO VALUES. 0, and 1. Anything above 1 will STILL EQUAL 1. 38=1, 142=1, 199=1, 216=1, 255=1

MEANING, if the value is above or equal to 1, it will have the EXACT SAME EFFECTS NO MATTER WHICH NUMBER YOU PUT IN THERE.

Now there can only be TWO POSSIBLE WAYS of getting more HP than the max.

METHOD ONE: Setting the SHP value to 1 or greater add 1 to the minimum HP value.

METHOD TWO: Placing a sprite-unit will have the regular unit HP over the HP you set. So if you have a marine, which normally has 40 hp, and you set it to 10hp, the marine sprite-unit will have 40/10 hp. Either that, or it's the other way around tongue.gif.

DK, there are other weird effects, explained in the tut that I wrote.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Deathknight on 2005-03-04 at 17:22:38
It's just that people STILL think the SHP needs to be a specific number like 2 or 3.

I did not know that everything =1. Interesting because when I set the vaule to diffrent numbers I always get diffrent results. Nice to know though. I never use colored wire frames I cant get it to be consistent and Im lazy and wont read the tut.

Here you have the tutorial

Is not really a tutorial is just a weird reference list that is hard to understand tongue.gif
My favourite effect is spriteunit with HP set to 0

My tut is about HP, not wireframe colors. Wireframe colors are buffer overflows, and 999999999999 things will make they change. A new patch might make they change. Creating an unit in game might make them change. Even in the same conditions it might change. So its just test different HP values. My tutorial tells you the effects over the HP, just test values where its HP is higher than the HP max. All of them might have weird colors.

I saw like every color that a wireframe can have. Just set the small HP box of a marine to 9999999999999 and place two marine sprite-units. Attack to eachother in game and you'll see the colors change.

And there were another topics like this one about finding a wireframe with .... color.

What I would like to see is a chart stating the player colours. Example 16=black/1=red/177=Light blue..

I find those are cool but I never know what colour I am going to get.. It would be awsome if some1 could make a chart.

hydra are you talking about player 0-256 colors like red blue green etc.
if so i used to have one. go and ask someone for it. i lost mine sorry
(you need starforge for this).
this chart is made already i think kegbeer has it
Report, edit, etc...Posted by RexyRex on 2005-03-08 at 21:38:15
It's possible, but you have to use sprites not units.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Staredit.Net Essence on 2005-03-08 at 23:13:11
Well, If any1 does have the chart, I ask if they can post it here, would be gratly appreciated. Thankyou. smile.gif
Report, edit, etc...Posted by RexyRex on 2005-03-09 at 00:43:16
There is no chart.
Someone has to make one.
If I cared about unit wireframe colors, I'd gladly do it for you.
But then again, thats a lot of work, and you have to do it twice for the zerg units.

(Imagine buildings, 2500 HP?)

rexy i think hydra was talking about something else i think. he was of topic.
he was telling us about the colors of players 0-255. like painted on the units.
