well i got this idea from legacy, and i dunno if he got the idea from me too, but il give credit to him, since im so nice, and he probably deserves it.
have a location on a wraith.
keep centering the location the wraith.
Just move the wraith and have a trigger when you move a civ onto a beacon or something it stops centering, and wala! of course, if you really want to save a lot of triggers, u need lots of locations. or you can use the griding system. so everytime you save a space u creat 1 ling under. and when u want to cycle through the saved locations, you give one to the comp, and then center on the next one.
ez eh? and if u want to delete if u justr cycle to that one and have a trigger when u bring ur civ to a beacon to delete it!
sharing is a wonderful thing indeed!
il make a map on this later, i g2g now.
Uh moving a civ to a beacon In Game isn't very practical...and the gridding system is already pretty well known.
ok...i can make it u can use an transport.....
but this is just an test!
here is an attachment, it works, 100% i believe, except the lings keep unburrowing everytime they switch players. this can be solved by removeing it and creating another.
What a lame concept.
I should make a concept about the patroling
I'll describe how to make a unit patrol constantly unless you move a civ off a beacon, then he will stop in his tracks. Wow, need a sample map?
ehg...thats ez to do, but i didnt see anyone do this before....
i updated it. so now its beta 5.
why is it lame? plus, where would you patrol too? a user selected location? or to the top left....
plus thats ez...i could do it in a few minutes.
its just like...3 triggers? one center on the dude, and on if u move on the beacon, and one off, and 2 locations, one is on, and the other patrol place?
I just pulled up a random pointless idea, Of course its easy thats my point. So is your idea.
Anyone with an understanding of the MOVE LOCATION trigger can come up with this.
why didnt anyone?(......)
so what it its simple? you didnt do it did you? stop critizing me, and ask yourself, why didnt I do it?
geeze....
We all have, at some point. You shouldn't post something that could and should be figured out by anyone with half a brain.

Am I suppose to answer those questions? Oh well here i go
1. No clue, (an ellipsis is suppose to be only 3 periods and indicates a place within a quotation where information is omitted but not needed to understand the phrase)
2. Yeah its simple
3. Nope I didn't
4. Because I don't have a need for it, generally there is a better way to do things like that. But I have thought of the idea before. There are a lot of things I haven’t done but much more that I know how to do.
Also, there is no point to continusally center the location on the wraith before you 'save' it. Just centering it once when you move the civ on the beacon will do fine.
Okay okay Ax....
Everyone here seems to be bashing you, which suks right?
I can tell from your many recent posts that you're trying to find something new and inventive. No offence in ANY way shape or form, but MOST everything has been found - at your level of Mapping.
People kinda get attitude when you find something new for yourself - which is AWESOME (for yourself)!!! You act like it's new and you want credit for it (anyone would), But most of us already knew it...
Please check the tutorial section first on stuff you think you found as "new". Most likely it's already been discovered.
Thanks SO much for your input though, and congratulations on your new finds!
The tutorial section doesn't include things like that. Basicly what axblader has learned is that the center location action doesn't always have to be preserved and include the conditions 'always'
I know that sounds dumb but most people only use center location action in triggers that repeat constantly thoughout the game. Axblader is basicly showing that you can stop centering a location and it will remain where you last centered it.
Yea, good for him figuring new stuff out... even if its not new to the community anyways good job :-). Sure it's simple but wouldn't you rather have people post stuff they think is new than risk someone finding out some new/cool concept that really is new but not sharing it because there afraid people will just yell at them for calling something old new?
erm...no it doesnt show you where it last centered....it shows all the places you saved...so you're wrong on that one...
and duh, everyone knows about centering, i was just saying ideas outloud, is it against the law to do so? if you dont have anything good to say then dont.
FINE then, i wont post anything THAT you think is newbish.
who knows maby i might come up with an idea and i wont share!
What's the point of coming up with an idea and not sharing it? We wouldn't know if you actually have one or not since you wouldn't point out that it exists. For all we know you could just be lying.
How bout we do this....
1)Stop Jumping all Over People, or taking attitudes at them for posting small concepts that arn't Ground Breaking. Simply Stating that you feel this is a Already done concept is enough, critizing someone trying to prove Supiriority doesn't impress anyone with half a Brain.
2)When Posting something in concepts, shouldn't we try to incorporate it into Something, like a Bigger Picture. Like so say....Make a Map with the idea of using the saved Location as a way to mark Random Bomb Points or Something? Or Maybe even something as simple as a Revive for an Rpg, or Dropping a Unit out of a Plane, etc. Just Try and add an idea to a Concept to make it so people won't see it as irrelevant.
3)Ignoring this post will probably happen, as people who arn't well known in this community have a hard time being Listened to or taken seriously.(Lot's of other people Believe they are way better, whether they are or not). Maybe that's y people don't post alot of stuff... Maybe people scarred of the Pro Mappers Always Jumpin on topics(no I'm not Pointing out Bolt head, I mean in General, this happens often in these forums.)
Anyway, yeah your Concept is Noobish, or on a lower Level, but posting it wasn't against any rules, people just think it was a waste of a post. So yeah.... if you become scarred to post something in the future that's your fault, but at the same time, try to Post Huigh Quality stuff. Thank you and Godnight!
I don't understand what you meant by the ling and everything but is it anything like the map in Experimental Maps "Rows 'n' Columns.scx"..?
