Description:
Can you be the first to take this land?

I have re-started my map that was (4)land Grab, It is now only a 2 player map. No i have not complete it yet, I have only just started it.. Im going to keep this updated. As i have had a few ideas for this map to try new thinfs out.

Below is two pictures one with two red marks on it, Which i will explain under the picture, i hope you like what you see, So comments please.

This is how it looks so far

Where the two marks are. There on the high ground is three Vespene Geyser's You dont start off right next to them, There are just a little walk away.. And you get three.

Base Exp:
Each base has 2 Exp bases close by each with 6 mineral feilds and no Vespene Geyser's. One which can only build a Command Center, Zerg Hatchery, And a Nexus, Maybe a defence. The other allows more freedom to build a small base. Outside the bases the Exp will be limitless and few.

Once again, i hope you like what i have started so far.

One thing that concerns me, zerg usually fast expand which might give them a huge lead in gas, it looks pretty cool and it will definitly change a lot of stratagies (as typical m'm will take a fair bit longer). Also red's main can be cliffed more easily than blues and blues geyser expansion kind of protects it while reds hides in the back. Also blues island is encircled by the main base while red's isn't, I don't know if you're doing that on purpose to mix things up but they're just some things you should consider if you aren't already.

3 geysers is just... Unthinkable. Two would be the very limit of geysers at the same place, and even then, it'd still be ALOT...

Psycho is right, you should allow at least a geyser at the starting location, otherwise Protoss and Terran will have to work a bunch just to get to gain gaz.

I can see Terran could just easily lift off earlier game and take the bottom island without any threat (compared to top).

Perhaps you could try to move one of those geysers to the main and one to the expo opposite of the main. This would balance things a bit.

i have a few things to say,
terran will do much better than zerg on this map, i know it would be a pain in the ass but you should add another bridge to each side,
i would make one gas thing at the starting bases, and take the ones out on the mountain, or at least one or two.
the middle, what are you going to do there? make sure there are lots of cliffs and min or gas only expansions.
next time you post a map in progress, put it in the map showcase section.

Interesting idea... would probably frustrate alot of random b.net people playing it though(asking where is the gas and all). Also the middle seems kinda empty/barren, surely there is something that can be done/added to the middle cool1.gif . Other than that maybe a few more bridges or give them something to fight over in that middle area.

Too many resources!

First, if youre gonna have lots of expandable areas, keep the amount of mineral patches in the main to just 6-7, and then the natural to just 6. And Ill simply say this: 3 gas nodes = overkill.

On the island expo, you should put a 16 mineral patch where the cc/hatch/nexus would be, so that terrans cant simply land on it. And the cliff in the middle of reds base should be closer to the entrance, kinda like how blues is, and have the ramp pointing right.

I like how the terrain isnt symmetrical, yet holds that land balance. You should have two bridges leading into the main.
