Ok, I would say "kick ass!" but think about how you're gonna play with that. You can walk through that temple!! Besides, at least try to keep it down to about 20 sprites.
Now out of game I will say 7/10.
That temple is the actual protoss special building. So it's not walkable.

I actually think this looks very well done, regardless of the usage of sprites. Use what is available to you. If you have a sprite limit of 1024, use every last damned sprite that you possibly can. He could easily use that many sprites on a large section of the map such as a temple area without trouble. If its extremely blocky underneath, honestly no one playing the map would give a shit. The point of terrain is to fit the scene and the storyline, not to be plain, boring, and "well blended."
Yeah but if you have alarge amount of units on the map then it will make problems.

Haha I think Mp)SD is just bitter because no one liked his "terrain for [his] RPG" thread. Or maybe because he left Oo for a dead clan?
And I think the sprites are fine. They create more detail for the area. And really, what if that was an area intended for an overgrowth of trees? We always frown upon sprites, but they add a lot to the surrounding area in detail and reality.
If he's using this for an RPG, then what's the point of seeing it without the sprites? Do you really think real (excluding people at SEN) players will care how blocky it is while playing it? No. The vast majority of players on Battle.net have no idea what blending, or StarForge, or sprites are. They care more about the gameplay than what you all demand to see.
It's a pretty good concept indeed. I like how the whole terrain is coming along toghether.
What I don't like is the excesive use of sprites. It's only to be used to cover up terrain which can't be perfected, it can be used for decorative purposes but not at that level.
I'd just suggest clearing up some sprites where you dont need them. Other than that its acually some really nice terrain! Especially for a first try.
Oo. can do terrain, now let us see some triggers to go along with it.
