This thread is for, if youve got a good tutorial and you dont have the url for it *or* its yours that you found from personal experiance, then post it here.

You can also request tutorial's if you'd like and people can post url's or the actual tutorial to them.

anywys, ill start. i spose.

-----------------------------------------------------

Steel look background tutorial. (mine)

step 1:
New document. i did sizes: width 400 height 130. fill background with appropriate colour. (i used black.)

step 2:
now select the rough round bristle brush. draw random lines anywhere, but try to almost cover the entire area. i did this.
[attachmentid=5991]

step 3:
go to: Filter>Render>Lighting Effects.

select the following options:

Light type: Whatever you feel. (i chose Spotlight usually.)
On (ticked)
Intensity: 28 (you will have to keep it around there, coz to much more and its to bright, and to much less and its black.)
Gloss: 32
Material: 100 (full to metalic side)
Exposure: 0
Ambience: 8
Texture channel: ANYTHING Except none!! (i use blue)
White is high: UNCHECKED!
Height: 50

(with both colour selections white..)

now press ok.

you should end up with something like this:
[attachmentid=5992]

step4:
Change the hue and saturation to desired colour. (Image>Adjustments>Hue/Saturation)

Step 5:
Add text and renders..

Mine ended up like this. pinch.gif

[attachmentid=5995]

o well feel free to fiddle around with some of the options, i know that changing colour selections, height, exposure, White is high and material can definately make it look good if done properly...

Injoy!!

Eh, it's got a nice final effect. Work on how you can blend stuff with it some more.

sounds good and everything that you did. but i was wondering giving the full tut of it like putting pictures as backgrounds with resizing and adding names without messing up. seems like i want to ask someone to do mine like my fake signature.
i like to use her but i dont really like the fruity background. can anyone help me?

AHA!!

about 20 seconds ago i stumbled across this... i was messing about with grunge brushes, put some text on and pushed something wrong smile.gif ...

------------------------------------

Weird colouring text - Mine

-----------------------------------

New document - I used 450x180

Now ill skip the whole background bit, seeing this is mainly for the text... (plus the background looks crap..)

Right click the Little 'T' icon then select horizontal type mask tool.

write some text. it should just be an outline...

fill the outline of the text in with white (use paintbucket)

then use these setting (right click the layer> Blending options)

Drop shadow
Multiply (colour hex code: 716B6B)
120 (tick)
5
0
5
(rest are default settings)

Bevel and emboss
Inner bevel
Smooth
100
up
5
0
(rest are default settings)

Satin
Multiply (colour hex code: 9F0909)
80
19
11
14
(rest are default settings)

Color Overlay
Normal (Colour hex code: 8C0A0A)
100

--------------------------------------------------

Using those Exact settings this is how my text turned out.

[attachmentid=7068]

i dont think it looks that good, but it is an interesting effect.

experiment with colours..

as i said i stumbled upon it about 5 minutes ago...
