The RPG will feature squad commands. You will be able to tell your squad to follow you, Defend&Secure a Position, Or Search And Destroy. While in Search and destroy mode they will walk with you and shoot everything they come to.You will play the role as RC-1138 "Boss". Boss is the leader of Delta-Squad and they will follow him to their deaths if needed... this will require stratagy and patience as you move through the Game Hacking and Breaching Doors, or Defending a Hangerbay From an oncomming assault.[/center]

Sounds great. Could you tell your team mates to retreat or something (if you don't want them to take damage.) You could make them hold position farther back, but if you get into a suprize battle or something it would help probably. I guess it would be hard to have them know where to retreat to pinch.gif.

Odd, personally I think it's much (read: REALLY MUCH) better if you create an thread after you're atleast at 50% or even better somewhere around 75%. This way you are sure you'll finish the map and you can tell something more about the gameplay and such.
Because now you told us how the game starts and that you can order the other guys... that aint that much huh. I don't say this to hurt you or something, it's ment as constructive critism, but everyone can simple say the map will look like this and it's going to be cool and such...
Sorry to say but personnally I think you should delete this post and re-create it after you have most of the triggers, really know what the map is like and maybe some screenshots. Because maybe something doesn't work or costs way to much time or something, and then you'll disapoint other people and such.
I'm currently working on something that has never done before and will totally rock (someone else sayd that too) IF it's going to be like I want. I almost created a thread about it a few months ago but didn't do it, and luckily coz a few days later I couldn't work further coz something couldn't be done I thought. But now, a few months later, I find an way how it can be done really good. Something like this can happen always, so be carefull of when you make an thread about your map.

But enough about that. I kinda like your map, it isn't original at all but the stratigic facter sounds good. Since you didn't and can't tell much about the map I also don't have much critism. But if I was you I whould use desert instead of installation since that is a much better terrain for caves. You can still use the doors with other editers and if you give it some time it will look good with the surrounding terrain. But I don't know for sure if your map is in caves, but you talked about 'orange red dust' and installation doesn't have much 'orange red dust' now has it happy.gif.

But goodluck with your map.

Edit: I don't know if Zombie means that he got THIS map yesterday or something else, he kinda confusses me since you sayd today (!!) "I haven't actualy started the rpg yet" in the other thread...

Ya i started it and i have most of the ideas I want for the gameplay and trigger wise... because some of the game is placed inside a SpaceShip I thought instilation would be good... After thinking about it I might make this into seperate maps and have the first one on Geonosis which would be desert terrain...

The "Squad Alert" is actualy the first page in the Instruction Manual telling a little bit about the story...

I know I should wait untill it is 50% or something but I want to hear how everyone thinks about my map... That is the main reason I give up on a map, not many people seem to care about it. Also if the map is 50% It would take longer to incorperate ideas and systems into the map...


Something I Need To Know:
Should Each Caracter Have Their Own Unit (ex: Ghost, Marine, Firebat) Or
Should I Have Each Unit Named DC-17modified (Sniper Mode) and
DC-17modified (Anti-Armor Mode)...
Because I will have the squad color identified it would still be easy to tell who each person is... This can allow more weapons than just one type for each person...

i like the idea of the squad command. it sounds pretty neat and helpfull unlike those noobs that just make then run to a location on the other side of the map. lets hope you finish this one because you seem to always have great ideas.

Wow Odd... Another RPG.

I really think you should stop trying to male maps for yourself or just try helping other people by being like a Co-Worker on a map abd that way we will see a finished map.

On the good note. This map looks fun. Desert Terrain Huh? Well, you don't see many good maps in that tileset im really looking forward to what you will do with this.

And please finish it.

(If you think people lose interest in your map don't worry about what others think and just make the maps for yourself, then once you do that people will see what you can do and that way they won't lose interest in your maps.)

Go for the lots of units. It makes it funner to play, but you should make it so you have to unlock the modes i.e. you get to a spot where you go in a speeder tank and you "unlock" the vulture. That way people can't get the uber units against easy enemys. Then you could also relock them again if you are in an instalation and you don't want people to "pull out a tank" when you are soposed to be inside a biulding the size of a tank confused.gif.

DON'T GIVE UP ON IT. I started one where you had force powers (i.e. about 5 min of work) because i wanted to prove to my friend you could make a starwars map. Now I can prove it without working closedeyes.gif.

As l)ark2004 sayd: just finish your maps even if it seems that people have lost interest in it, it's YOUR map and you got to prove that it's worth a lot of interest !

But about the weapons, I think you should add different weapons, it adds more strategic thinking and is much better then just 'pre set' weapons. I think every trooper can wear the basic weapons like machine gun, lighting rifle (Aldaris, the extra High Templar hero), plasma cannon (dragoon), and C-10 Rifle (normal ghost). But every clone is specialised in things, so you could have Mech Trooper (gholiath), flamethrower, sniper (hero ghost, so he has more range and such), spy (Dark templar, can hack doors and such), etc.

Your team has only 1 weapon to chose from.
That weapon is modified to change into 3 weapons to counter
all ranges of uses.

The Modifications Include:
Sniper Rifle
Blaster Rifle
Anti-Armor Grenade Launcher

Those will be your chose of weapons... I probably will not incorperate the feature where you can pick up enemy weapons because it will take alot of triggering and will use up strings...


Progress has commenced for today and Hopefuly I will finish some terrain for the first level...

Map sounds cool and unique. I think each team should and can have different kinds of units. Maybe for a mode for a free choice one. And then have some other modes where your team is a set of the exact same units and they are good agains one team and bad agains another team. Or soemthing like that.

Just don't give up on it.

I played the demo for this game a couple of months ago and it was so damn fun. I've got a few questions. In the game when a squad unit dies, the other guys can revive him...how will you encorporate this? Sometimes in the game you can order squad members to hide behind thing...How will you encorporate this...maybe when they get there, the unit is given to another computer who has high armor upgrades. Sometimes in the game you can get into turrets or use healing machines on walls...are you going to have this in your map? Oh and the most important question......ARE THERE WOOKIES?!?!?!!!

I am not sure... The project has been postoned because I need some time to think and get my head straight...

I will probably just make the members different colors and all the same units...

either way, its fine with me. just think about it, with 4 players you can play with you friends biggrin.gif and with 1 player you can command your squard and such just like the game biggrin.gif
