for one reason people steal alot, lie alot, and swear alot.

if you go to church every wendsday and sunday your suppose to be a religous person. if you do your suppose to follow and obey the ten commandments.

plus the racist thing. whats up with that? if your a christian your not suppose to be a racist to anything.

so you cant be a christain and an athiest at the same time becuace you cant.
so if you broke many laws and the ten commandments, god isnt going to help you becuace you sin so much that it cant be fixed. more likly your an athiest if you do alot of crime.

Well first of all, God WILL forgive you even if you do erally bad things. It says in the Bible that if you repent and you truly mean it within your heart, then and only then will God forgive you. Take the story of the burgler next to Christ when he was on the cross. He had committed many sins and yet when Jesus felt he was truly sorry for them he allowed him into the Kingdom of Heaven. SO just because you break laws does NOT mean you are automatically going to hell.

so what you are saying is that if your a juvinille or a previous criminal that stole alot of stuff and almost killed someone and drug violations, you can still be a christain and god will forgive all of your sins. to my opinion i wouldnt forgive him all and he probably wouldnt change himself to be a good man. he broke every commandment. if you were god would you forgive him if he broke more than 10 big crimes? even at school kids all over the world that are lying cheating and stealing, would you forgive there sins or what they have done. I wouldnt becuace they took the risk and they wanted to that. if they were so smart, they wouldnt do the crime anyway. so why be a christian if your going to be lying cheating and stealing or doing other crimes. to them they thik church is a chore and a easy way ticket to go to heaven.

MinigameEast, I don't think you read what i typed. If they repented and they were TRULY sorry for it god would forgive them. I am not saying you can steal from a church and be forgiven immediately. You must repent for your sins and confess what you have done and in your heart TRULY beg for forgiveness. And yes anyone who has done anything can be forgiven if they are truly changed and confess to God. Now obviously if you kill 1, 000 people then say God I am sorry let me into heaven, then that is not truly asking for forgiveness.

Edit#1" A few quick edits. I did'nt capitalize God in second sentence. Also, I am not saying many criminals would do this but if someone was truly changed and realized what they had done and confessed to God and TRULY meant it in there hearts, God would know and forgive them. I am pretty sure there was a movie about this, if anyone knows reply back. It is also in the Bible, Peter: 2:36. "Then Peter said to them repent and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, for the remission of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." (gift of the Holy Spirit means salvation or making it ot heaven)

Well obviously not everyone will believe it. Only people who have read the Bible and are Christian will understand it.(because I think other religions take different parts form the Bible) It applies to anyone though. Even if you are not Christian and really want to be forgiven, you will be. Now if you are Buddhist and pray to Buddha I doubt it will happen. Obviously I am referring to the Lord jesus Christ. So yes, asking the people in your neighborhood will help but, ask religious people. Obviously if you have an atheist and ask him he will say it is a lie, that just comes standard. But if you are Christian yourself(i am not sure if you are or not) read the Bible and the verses around Peter 2:38 and you will find it out.(there are many other verses that talk about this kind of thing but Peter is the only one off the top of my head). So go explore and find out for yourself instead of asking people.

Church isn't a strict place where you have to do this or else you shall be eternally damned. It's a place just to worship God.

Yea, christians shouldn't be. But neither should ANYone.

Of course u cant be christian and athiest at the same time. Christians believe in God, athiests dont. That's what maeks the two of us. And if we (christians) broke many laws and ten comandments, just ask for forgiveness.

But remember, you have to have the right attitude. If you just conspicuously commit a sin or something and then ask for forgiveness just cuz you feel like it, i dont think that's very good. And if you Test God by doing that, that would sorta get him angered.


But you have to thave the right attitude/mindset when you ask for forgiveness. If you feel truly bad and feel like u're on the verge of emotional collapse or something that's hurting u mentally, then just ask for forgiveness with a good heart and he will forgive you. But if you think commiting these sins are OK just because you know God will forgive you, that's not gonna get God pleased and he probably wouldn't forgive you.

I still want to remember that movie on this topic....anyways. just cause you go to church does NOT mean you are a religious person and have to act a certain way. heck, there are a lot of people who go to church, come home, drink, smoke, cuss, and commit many sins. So, what we are talking about is people who are religious and truly want to worship God and go to heaven. Heck, I go to church because I want to go to heaven, however, I am too young to fully understand all of it so I sin. I always ask for forgiveness and think "Now why the heck did I have to say that to so and so". I hope that once I am older I will more clearly understand the Bible and not sin as much. Woah this is like my life story or something.

I guess so. Ok I am going to try and clear things up for everyone. I hope it helps. Being Christian, going to church, and accepting that God is our Lord and Savior, is all a CHOICE people make. Meaning that just because you go to church does NOT mean you are a good person and don't cuss or sin or any of that. You choose rather or not to sin, and you also choose rather or not to repent for your sins. NO one is saying if you go to church you HAVE to behave a certain way. It is your choice if you want to be saved or not. I for one, choose to go to church because I want to be saved(although I haven't been going lately ). And no one is perfect. We all sin but the difference between a sinner and a Christian is we REPENT for our sins with a good(not the word I am looking for) heart. So you can choose to go to church, but rather or not you actually follow the Bible is YOUR decision. Hope that clears things up a bit? I still can't remember the name of that movie...

You could be a murderer and repent to a priest. If they believe that you're genuinely repentant then they will absolve your sins.

No no no. You are totally not understanding what I mean. First off, I don't believe in repenting to a "priest". If you want to be forgiven you repent to God. A priest can't decide if you are forgiven or not. I don't know where you got that form(perhaps form the Catholic belief?) I am Christian not Catholic. And regardless of what anyone says, I do not believe we are the same thing. Back on topic, I am not sure if you can understand the level of thinking here. I will try to give you an example. Let's say I kill somebody. I have been a Christian all my life and have a REAL bad day. I pray to God and say "Meh God I didn't mean to do that. Oh I need to run form the cops, just forgive me ok?". You won't be forgiven. You obviously don't mean it and are just messing around. Now take this example. You are a Christian all your life and kill someone because of something that happened.(this is very unlikely but....just an example) Later that day you find yourself in your room crying. You are TOTALLY clueless on why you would kill someone. You emotionally break down and pray to God. "Dear Lord, I can not even begin to ask you for forgiveness. I understand that what I did was totally wrong and I am so sorry for it. I realize that I have broken your laws, taken a man's life, and will now suffer the consequences. I have never strayed from you but now I feel more separated then ever. Please find it in your heart to forgive me." Well that was the best I could do. The man(or women) is obviously heart-broken and is TRULY sorry for what he/she has done. This is a case where most likely God would forgive him/her. Hope that clears things up again.
