in fireworks, there is only one save type that you can save as motion, and that is GIF, and you cant get millions of colors on GIF's, and i was wondering if anyone knew of more plugins to atleast give me more save options. and im also wondering if it is possible to get other kinds of motion pictures besides GIF.

In short? Nope, you're stuck with *.gifs for motion, unless you turn it into a movie clip or flash animation. And *.gifs only give you a maximum of 256 colours. Bummer? Yep.

Because they weren't designed to be. It's just the way the internet works. gifs are 256 colors because they'd take up massive space if they weren't. You can still do an "adaptive" save to your gifs that will make it appear better quality.

APNG? dont you mean PNG? png is the format fireworks uses for its pictures. its also a format that other programs let you save as. this format i think includes all image data including the layers, thus making your file size bigger. and no color datat is lost, but you have a big file.

Layers aren't usually included to my knowledge, but then again, I use Photoshop. PNG is almost the "universal" format since it's lossless, most browsers now support it, and it has an alpha channel and supports 24-bit colours, making it superior to GIF. Well, IE doesn't support alpha blending, though everything else does, which is...weird.

oh ok, w/e. so does anyone know of a save plugin? i would also like a plugin that lets fireworks read photoshop's format. because i use both of these programs and it would make my life easyer.

Getting a plug-in to read PSD files would be impossible unless Adobe made Fireworks.
