I plan i releasing a full site for the one map because it will take alot of work almost like a real game for a consule.  I also plan to use player's 2-5 to give a color code on which i will use a color for the different gangs, the enterable use of buildings, etc.

What gave you the idea to try and take these maps to a better level?

It took Rockstar years to develop GTA. This map isn't going to be a cakewalk to make if you wish for it to become popular with the gaming public of starcraft. If you really want to do a good job you'll need adequate planning and time.

People will be looking for a map that is somewhat as fun as the actual game, meaning that this map is going to need lots of features.

Personally, some things I believe you should have in the map are:
  • Easy-use weapon system
  • Smooth transition while entering vehicles
  • ADDED: Large vehicle selection
  • Non-complicated gameplay
  • Tons of missions
  • Detailed storyline
  • Detailed terrain
  • Explosions
  • Cinematics
  • Detailed sounds
  • Actual voices of main characters (ties in with sounds)
This map, as I said, will be no cakewalk to make if you wish for it to turn-out well. If you spend a good amount of time and planning on it I think it could be a great map.

I believe that it would be beneficial to the map. In doing that, it would make it more like the actual game, which people will be looking for in this map.

The more realistic this map is made, the better it will be—the more cars, the better.

I suppose you could make the cars different (within the limits of the few vehicle-looking units there are) by creating an adjustable HP and speed. HP would be adjusted by creating some cars with only a fraction of the max, and speed can change through the old "create burrowed unit under" trick. This way, there can be some cars with high HP that are slow, or getaway vehicles with low HP but are fast.

There are different vehicular units in starcraft, IE: Jim Raynor (Vulture), Terran Vulture, Terran Siege Tank, Duke (Siege Tank), that could be used as different types of cars. I really think that a randomized car system in which you can easily steal different types of cars would be tight on this map and I highly recommend that it be done.

Yes, but truly I know you understand that there are more vehicles in GTA than 2 fast cars and 2 tanks. tongue.gif

Gotta work with what we've got and make something of it though, right?

A truly realistic GTA game on Starcraft is pretty much impossible but I think we should at least make the best of it with the resources we have.

Well i planned to make it one player just because we would need the other players to signify gangs. Also it would be WAY too overwelming to create more then one player for a map of this status. It would be a popular SEN map at the most. Public couldn't send it to a friend becuz no1 else would be able to join the games. It would spread to SEN users only.

This just takes up another space in the forums, no offence. Nobody like ever finishes their maps if it's GTA. Ppl say they are, but they don't. I'm sorry, i'm really mad cuz pppl llike NEVER finish their maps.

Don't discourage him though. Just because nobody else has finished a GTA map means Mp)3D's efforts are absolutely doomed. We may not know for sure if this project is going to be finished too, but hell, let the man do this in peace.

yes, me and silent(U) talked it over. A few years back he had started a map that was simular to grand theft auto. It had a great car stealing system, numberous missions, and several cop atack missions. Also he had smuggling where about 1/6 of the civs in the map would atack you when you tried to pick pocket them. Also every person you killed you get random money. I talked it over with SiLeNT(U) and we may possible do a dual project that would be very simular to a Grand Theft Auto map. He would be helping me out on the triggers because he is the founder of several of these great systems. Also he had a system back then for running slow after a point of time. You would have a centered observer above your head to cause you to walk slower.

Instead of 1/6 you should make it 1/2 the civilians that attack you.

Also, you should be able to steal cop cars and be able to play vigilante missions, I think that would be awesome and not too complicated.

It really depends if i can even get the terrain done for such a big map. Honestly that is the biggest step to the map. Once the terrain gets finished the triggering will go by alot smoother. Im having trouble starting the terrain though =\. It's not that im not motivated its that i just plainly have trouble starting it. So many idea's i get confused on which one to do..
