I like how the neutral color player units match with the twilight terrain.

Not to be mean or anything, but it looks like you could have done the terrain on normal Staredit. (Except the cliff neaxt to basilica) I do like the sprite placement, and the overall feel of the town. smile.gif

ya same here Ratent. nothing too special except the cliff that you moved closer to the basilisk

I still don't see where this terrain has been changed from that of normal terrain placement at all.

Ok, this forum is about terrain in general -- not just 'mosaic' terrain. Comments like "that is nothing special" are worthless. Personally, I have no problem with stuff you can do in normal staredit so long as it has some flavor to it. I don't care if it's fancy or not (most of my terrain is normal isom), but it has to give a certain atmosphere.

That said, my comment on these pictures would be that the basilica seems out of place with the rest of the 'town' environment. Also, it's too big and empty to really give the feeling of a town.

You got to say it before me, qPirateKing...

It's kind of sad, I guess, that you're all becoming so used to the only terrain here being crazy crap all put together from one single square at a time.

I say that it looks pretty good, for a twilight terrain town thingy. Maybe you could add a few more people around the town to give it more of a town feeling. Since there is kind of a lot of open space.

Thanks for all hte positive feedback !!!
The thing that took the time was the bastilica to the cliff and making is somewhat non blocky...
The inside of the town is new to me seeing as I have never seen anyone make a town with the sunken ground around in it...

How did you guys like the sprite placement?

Report, edit, etc...Posted by Mune'R0x on 2005-03-14 at 17:45:07
It was pretty good. Actually, I liked it. You don't see too many trees in twilight these days and they look cool in their little holes or sunken ground or whatever it is. Pretty cool.

Well it works for me in FireFox, IE, and even AOL, so you must be doing something wrong or using a browser worse than AOL.

By the way you can just right click on it and select "View &Image"

I remembered when i was making this that each tileset affects the sprites
colour (twilite gives it a hint of blue) So i placed all the jungle trees and bushes and these ones looked like they were made for twilite!!!

Thanks for all the feedback smile.gif
Its more of an outpost then an actual full scale town because it is small...

Wtf? Not to mention that the second post is spam even if you had been able to see the pictures, but you are posting your opinion on something without even seeing it? Please just leave the forum. Uninstall your operating system please.

And you make topics asking why people hate you? Take a guess and grow the censored.gif up. You might want to say that you saw them if you did, and say why you had problems in the first place so that others can figure out how to access them since you had had problems at first as well.

Looks good. Can you tell us a bit about the town? What kind of atmosphere are you going for? At first glace I feels a bit deserted; maybe a town in desperation judging by the few buildings and the dead trees.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by TheOddAngel on 2005-03-16 at 07:45:15
Ya the town was just attacked by some monsters and the survivors are who you see there...
I might have one or 2 buildings on fire also to give it more of a deserted feeling. The atmospere is also suposed to be dark like there is a dark shadow laying over all of the world. That is the reason why I chose Twilite

Have you done anything interesting with other terrain on that nap? Not to say the town isn't good or interesting, but it does look like regular isometrical terrain with a few doodads - nothing special to today's standards.
