Yay I had said a while ago for someone to try to figure out how to blend high dirt to high dirt. Someone finally did it, and it looks very well done. Nice job, and my idea was that this is an extension of a channel along a river. contributing to the feel of the waterfall or dam. Someone please try to combine these two ideas, I would love to see it and guess that it would look amazing.
looks great, good job
Edit: now id like to see someway to get to the top of it (example:a ramp)
Or an elevator ?!?!!!!

:uberwoot:
lol, ill see what i can do... i dont think a simple ramp would work though...
Elevator... ELEVATOR! That cliff looks... dominating.
Just to let you know this is old news, for me at least. (It's what gave me the idea for my temple.) Linking pieces can be found under the high temple terrain, in the jungle tileset. I don't think any terrain has been sent on sen besides the cliff from rapids though. So good job glytcher.

Now this shoulda been done for the cliff in Kill Me! very nice job and it can be even better if you make use for it.
That's a nice looking cliff.
WOW.
NO blockiness and no sprites... Just Wow
actually there are sprites, to cover up the blocky areas that no matter what can not be avoided if you want it to look good, but it sounds like i placed the sprites good because you didnt notice them...
thanks for the comments guys, and triggamasta you didnt post yur comment...
Huh? i said make an elevator or somethin, using the mechanical wall doors and stack em or something.
Old news... Lots of people could do this alredy
Although I have to admit it does look extreamly natural
and you must have taken your time make sure it looked natural
8/10
A giant square block isn't very natural, try to combine it with others... and make a giant grand canyon, than that would be the center of a massive new Air Wars.
If you were to put that in a map you would need lots of other landmasses around it or else it would look out of place.
It's well done, it's just a little obscenely large and hard to place where it doesn't look abnormal.
ADDED: I wasn't dissing on it I was just saying that it is a hard land figure to make fit in with the rest of the scenary. It takes up the literally the whole center of this map.
thanks oddangel, but i didnt take my time on it, whenever i could get on the comp i would try and hurry it up...
and trigga i was thinkin about a grand canyon map using huge cliffs like this and using yur like lil uuuh, rock quarry things, only thing is that it would take a long time and i usually make terrain look too organized when i make it...
and fortune i know its obscenely large, i was seeing how obscenely large i could make it, i coulda gone alot farther but i decided to stop because it was getting way too massive...
if i used cliffs in a map they would prolly be only about 3 or 4 layers, 6 at the most, this cliff is 10 layers...
Add some spirts on the mountain to look realistic!
thats awesome! no blockiness!
you could make a movie outta that. someone wants to kill themself!!!

a grand canyon map using huge cliffs like this
Cliffs by themselves aren't hard. But if you try to link things to them, it becomes a hassle.

One previous attempt of mine.

Rofl, make a king of the hill map.

heres the cliff with the elevator...

its a bit more blocky but i still like it.
creative!

i like the elevator one but i dont care for the other because it doesnt look natural because i mean how many perfectly rectangular cliffs do you see? the elevator one is nice but the doodad to the left of the bottom entrance isnt really nessesary.
first- 5/10
second- 7/10
i know that a giant perfect rectangular cliff out in the middle of nowhere isnt natural, i wasnt trying to make it...
I did this once, its not that hard. i did it thinking i had an original idea, but i was wrong.
anyways all you have to do is put top parts of cliff and bottom part of the costal cliff/cliff thing.
Didn't see elevator
