or strings. cause, part of my mission briefing is on my siegh tank...plus all my other unit names have been blanked out.
big bug.
i guess it happened when it read the CHK and it must of skipped a line or 2, so it got mixed up...
I've seen a few reports of this happening now...did you ever open the map with Staredit or any other editor and save it?
yes.
Xtra, then SCM, finalyl forge.
i shoudltn of used that much lol. but i read somehere scm is compatible with Xtra?
SCMDraft is basically SCXtra, with a ton more features. SCMDraft basically works perfectly with StarEdit. StarForge is kinda living in it's own world... Still a great editor.
SCMdraft is a Xtra with SF options. they shouldnt creat any problems right?
SCMDraft is NOT Xtra with <insert odd thing here>
It was coded from scratch.
i know that. but i was saying it has the likeness of Xtra and SF.
w/e. you gusy getting me confused here.
SCX is like SE because they use the same source. Neither SF nor SCMD are like any other editor in that way. Case closed.
it happens to me too when i abuse starforge to much that it secreatly erases one location and it takes me forever to find it and recreate it but if i type it in the same exact letters and capitalization it comes back on the triggers so i dont have to redo all over again.
wow, i never knew SF was evil. plus wouldnt it crash you map if it couldnt find the location(and you didnt replace it).
it doesnt crash but it skips the part of the location and does it regularly
The reason I was asking about other editors is that this problem sometimes arises when unused strings get pushed before used strings in the string table. I'm pretty sure Starforge wouldn't have a problem with this because the way the string table code is written, but I can't vouch for any other programs. When did you notice the problem? Can you duplicate it using only Starforge?
You might want to try fixing this by opening the string table in Starforge and checking where each of the strings is used. If it's used in more than one place, set whatever uses that string to use the default (if it's a unit name) or delete whatever it is that uses it (trigger, location, etc). After you do that, you can re-create the item or rename the unit and everything should be fine. You can get to the editing screen for something that uses a string by double-clicking the item in the usage list in the string editor.
i've noticed a problem in the custom druses when you save as certain names, it crashes. im not sure if you fixed this in the new version
Um, what new version?
I never saw anywhere that Heimdal is making a new version....

hmmm, don't think so, I don't think that heimdal would tell him it before he tells us it
But if he did, we should kill him.
I ahd this problem too but it can be easily fixed. Just open your map in proedit and unrecycle strngs and save.
