Well, I read some of the things said about my first attempt, so I decided to fix some of them and try again.

Its a very nice idea. I don't think I've seen this done before in this way, but I haven't seen much terrain. It could be quite useful in melee maps.

WOW, thats pretty nice, especially for second try, the only thing I see that dont fit is in the second pic where the ramp is. good job.

There have been several terrain's like this, but none have quite taken your idea. Although it is original, it's been basically done. Don't feel bad though, it's still pretty good. smile.gif

Good stuff. You've gotten pretty good at this very quickly.

I like it but I spotted a large amount of blockiness on the second levels walling.

You may want to work on that a bit, but otherwise it's great.

I see several blocky tiles, like the ones at the extreme top left corner. but other than that, it's actually pretty good and better than many things that I've seen here before.

i really like the ramp, but if you want to make yur cliff better use the hight dirt next to water terrain, in the starforge palette its under the structure terrain...

Well, I surrounded the terrain by water and extended it a bit, tell me what you think now.

I like how you put the signs around the bridge in the second one, it looks pretty nice like that. For the tal cliff in first one, I think you can make it better, I remember there was a topic about high cliff here a couple of days ago.

Very nice, I'd suggest that you add a waterfall to the right side of the high cliff or find some way to make it look less blocky. As it is now, it is a perfectly straight vertical line down the right side. A waterfall could take some of this away, and I have yet to see a waterfall facing to the southeast.

Ok, I added the waterfall, but I wasn't sure about sprite placement, so which of these 3 looks best?

Now THIS (http://www.staredit.net/index.php?act=Attach&type=post&id=6705) is very nice.
Thats one of the best waterfall effects I've seen.
But..you killed another kitten.

The sprites from the third one look best. But the terrain for the waterfall is a bit repetative. Other than that it looks pretty cool, baby.

Ahh! Thinking is good here!

Why would you make the waterfall come out of the side of the cliff, when you have a river running right above the cliff? Waterfalls are of water, which come from rivers. If you connected it to the river it would look realistic and could be cool to look over from the cliff. Nice job though, and I like the sprites from the third best as well, but still prefer randomly placed sprites.

That second waterfall does look pretty good, but watch your sprite count...
Personally I think Iwould like that waterfall better if it were just one little strait fall, rather than haveing a wide one we see so much. Looking something like angel falls would be cool. wink.gif

seeing the waterfall's edge on the edge of the cliff doesnt seem right. move the waterfall the left a little bit more. (i meanit doesnt look good because its like water hitting water..)

Leave the cliff where it is and put the second waterfall next to it. So the water above the cliff looks at the same level, and it falls where the cliff is. It really makes more sense that way. If you have a cliff with a river, the cliff will continue under the river making a waterfall.
