I made a sloppy banner for a site I might not even make. It'll be a blog kinda thing like http://www.n3.net.
Whatcha think? I'd be more content if someone made it for me. Becuase I suck...

Yeah, the background is very ugly.
Any suggestions on how to fix that?

Render clouds. Then use the Find Edge

make it more 3d like. if you have the jasc paint shop(thats what i have) you can make 3d button looknig thingys. its transparent and goes over everythng, so it looks like a crystal. maybe if you gave me the picture i could try. also tell em what color the button should be.

My suggestion:

SIB - Simpler is Better
But apparently, my opinion seems to only mine.

It won't be 'techy' if you'll use that font... you should use Courier or Computerfont instead.
Also, listen to EzDay, SIB is a good advice.

If you'll simply write 'Rexy's Lair' with green letters on black background in the Computerfont font (size 46 bold) you'll get a 'techy' banner.
You can also add a net of dark green in the background and put the bright green letters on it.
light blue and red will be good as well.

And belive it or not - it can all be done in MSpaint and still look good!

Use the font "Planet Kosmos" for your banner. You will soon see what wonders it does

use SC font! I think you can download it.
though i have the SC automactically, weird.

i can make it look better but someone said SIB

to make it more techy looking you need metal in the background.(from my experience, or have some mistical crystal looking thingy.)

Well lets see, just make take some random thoughts and put them together, and then post it and see how people react to it

Of course, the person making the crystal must not be that 'Axblader' guy.
The 'crystal'line effects he does seem a bit... uncrystalline and dull.
Personally, I also think that the Axblader guy should stop talking about the wonders of the ugly diagnoly-seperated 2 colors...

Uhh ax, that doesn't look like a button even if you squint your eyes. If you want a really button, go look in the text manipulation thread and at the very last post is a little multi-purpose layer style.

By the way if anyone was wondering what the font: Planet Kosmos looks like, look at the SEN banner .

If it looks like that, then it looks ugly.

Here's a suggestion Rexy. If you want techy, go to http://www.good-tutorials.com and search for tech. You're bound to find something you like there.

No problem.


The grid is in MSpaint, just make one line in a darker color than your text, than copy it and move aside till you get the space you want, than choose the two lines and move the aside so that one of them will be exactly on a previous one (so that the spaces between the lines will be equale) and keep doing this till you have many lines.
Than copy em' all and flip 90∙ aside (ctrl+r) and place over the other ones so you get a net.
Than just with your test on it and delete the edges.
Make sure to save as *.jpg and not as *.gif.
