Well lets see. Internet Service Providers (ISP) make us pay lets see, at least 25 dollars or a bit less for just DSL. Meanwhile the better internet connection you get the more expensive it is. In my own opinion, its a money grabber. ISP should only charge maybe like 5 dollars for high speed internet. If anything the ISP should be free. Companies just price them so high to make a huge profit. Many people know this. But hey thats my own opinion, and I believe that there just a big rip off, but what can ya do? I use Sympatico btw (If you live in Ontario, Canada or in another province you should know who Sympatico is ) Lets here some opinions!

lets see... if you work for the company... then you would want to have at least ENOUGH to pay your bills and live right? Your parents are dead, you have a family, Blizzard diddnt accept you, SBC accepted you. The price that they give are needed because so many people work there. If one costomer was split up to 4-5 people you would only get about 4-6 dallors. So then the better connection you get, the better service they are suppose to provide. So then you should pay them more. As long as the prices do not rise above the cost of one shoe at NIKE's im fine... lol.. i mean as long as it is fair amount with not too much then im good. Because, whats the use of connection if you do not have a house. It is for rich or more rich people.

I'm not sure how much comcast is (I think $40-50), but it's 4mb/sec cable. If you pay $25 for 128k/sec DSL, then I think twice that is fair for something that is 30ish times as fast. Even if I pay four times the amount than for dial-up, I think it's mighty fair to receive a connection that is... seventy-one times as fast as that dial-up. If anything, dial-up should be free because it's slow. Point number 2: why would you pay for DSL instead of upgrading to cable? Point number 3: why wouldn't you just go with cable?

Have you seen that AOL commercial where they want you to buy AOL on top of your high speed internet. Their reason is that AOL will protect you from spam and viruses.


I guess its for people who dont know how to install their own antivirus and firewall.

Windows comes with an integrated firewall. SP2 makes it a point to activate! As for anti-virus, anti-spyware... the world is far too ignorant.

Meh, I don't know how much our ISP is. My mom pays for it, so I don't have any worries. The 'net is there, free of charge

Heh. Well I dunno, I'm just cheap thats all But yeah for me to upgrade from DSL to cable would be paying like twice as much, and my parents are cheap so

I think it is unfair on our ISP prices. The internet is basicly required too get by in life these days, you would figure by now it would be standard in every house. And ide figure by now 56k wouldn't exist. Why can't the government just give us all t3 and then everyone could be happy...greedy bastards.

I know but its gotton to the point too where if you dont have internet your life is basicly screwed. Technology is the wave of the future, and for those who don't relize it, they will be digging ditches for the rest of our lives. 9 out of eery 10 house holds has some sort of internet connection, and without it life would be so much worse..

SO WHY NOT MAKE IT STANDARD WITH YOUR HOME!!

So basically it all drops down to this. Internet Service Providers will charge as much as they please for internet. The better internet you want, the more money you better dish out for it. As much as it sucks, and it does suck Were stuck with it
And lucky me that I live in Canada, and stuck with a President who makes a nation more in debt

Technology costs are going down but the isp's are still charging the same prices.

Considering how a cheap house costs at least $5000 every month, I think some of you need to think about how much $20 really is in life.

How much $20 dollars really is..yeah theres a good point. Pretty much thats like nothing nowadays. Especially if your paying about $20 bucks a month for internet. But if you have a good job then you can afford it. Like I only work once a week because school takes up most of my time
