i dont really care for it. i dont like how you can see terrain at the edge of the water and the waterfall bottom and i dont like the choice of terrain behind the water on the cliff. also, water doesnt come from nowhere...

i know, i should have said before that im new at this and i did this in about 15 minutes so i was doing it as fast as possible. terrain is supposed to be at the edge of the water or else it would be some sort of floating water thing with no boundaries, lol. i put rocks at the bottom to make it look like more of a "dangerous" waterfall that has rocks at the bottom.

Experiment more. Just because you see the first tiles in the set and they look ok in that spot doesnt mean you are done. You have to work at it to find the best ones you can.

Well, it is sprite intensive. ermm.gif
The bottom of the fall is fine, but you need to work on unblockifying the top part of it.

Yeah, might want to try another sprite. The one you picked has right angles outlined against the terrain. And the right side of the waterfall is very blocky.

I see what you're trying to do to make it 'better', but the water tiles look blocky against each other, which really detracts from it (first pic). Try to gather as many water rock tiles you can find, and experiment to find ways to make them blend better vertically. If the rocks at the bottom of the original waterfall blended with the surrounding water better, and the waterfall body tiles blended better vertically, you might have a winner. Don't wuss out and cover it with sprites, though. wink.gif

Multiple things wrong with it.
  • It's a waterfall.
  • Where exactly is the water coming from? The terrain is dirt at the end of the river.
  • The bottom of the waterfall is dirt.

If you settled up those problems, I'd say you'd have a great waterfall.

Fortune, It could be a lake! Water falls dont all come from rivers.

It could be a lake on a fault line! flowers.gif whistling.gif

It could be a lake with a section of piping running under it that is completely transparent and thus can't be seen in the screenshot. The piping goes to no less than 8 water treatment plants where the water is supplied.

pimpinelephant, for a water source, simply extend the water beyond the screen.
