Staredit Network -> StarForge -> How do I use StarForge?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Staredit.Net Essence on 2005-03-26 at 20:00:06
I installed StarForge, but it won't let me use it. It says something about an invalid file. What should I do?

Be more specific. What is the exact error?

Missing file, etc.

Try looking at the pinned troubleshooting thread.

I think you have to right clik the SF that you downloaded and right clik, and clik extract file. So it let you install other files and to install that StarForge. I think. I downloaded mine for years ago, so I dont remember. sad.gif

It gives me the message "Compontent 'Mscomctl.ocx' or one of its dependencies not currently registered: a file is missing or invalid".

Find MSCOMCTL32.OCX in put it in the correct folder (see the text I added under the Common Controls download in the 'rquired files' section of the DLDB)

Download the ZIP, unzip the files and put them in the specified directory.

No, it doesn't depend where you download at all. You already have the required fuiles on your computer minigame.

It all depends on what other programs you've installed that use those files. SF version 2.1 installed those required files with the program, but I took them out in 2.2 to reduce the download size. I don't think I'm ever gonna do that again.

They can also come with other programs you install, for example I have VB5CCE on my comp and had it long before SEN so I had most of the runtimes for VB.
