I am challenging you all to try to build a bubbly swamp in starcraft.

The competition will end on April 9, I think a thwo weeks is more than enough of time.
I have tried it myself and have completed what I consider to be a relativly good expression of a swamp. I am looking to see if other people have any ideas on this before I release it though, as to get more original veiws.

Ok, I don't have much money right now, but I will give the winner 1,000 minerals as soon as possible, no matter what if they win this.

Ok, I know that sen is changing soon, and that I will probably lose everything, but I will still give a prize to the winner, and it will be no small amount of what ever currency we would have then.

um... you have 150 minerals. And were getting SEN v5 very soon. usless.

But still compete in it anyway. Im not cause i cant have StarForge or any other kind like that. but gl all!

I tried to make a swamp in jungle tileset for my rpg but it wasn't an easy task. I'd like to see someone pull this off nicely.

What tileset do you want?

If Rantent Agrees we can all PM him the maps and he can post screenshots and stuff of the maps at the END of the contest to prevent stealing of ideas!

Any tileset is ok. And actually I like the idea of being PMed, and then I'll post a poll at the end with everyone's. But remember, swamps have foilage.

Count me in as one of the entrants =), not doing this for the minerals, but for the Reputation, so if I win, send all the minerals to someone with low on minerals (Except me)

Hmm, maybe I'll cook one up too. I'm eager to show off my brush set in action, instead of waiting until my next map gets finished (probably not for a week or two more).

I guess I'll try it, but I would still like to see someone else's swamp first, so I will know mine don't completely suck. lol

It's a hard peice of terrain to pull off, mine took about 30 minutes of simply visualizing what I wanted. If it looks good to you, it's probably pretty good. Originality is what counts. If it doesn't look good, well I suppose there could be a few terrain examples to break terrainers block.

Will this be judged just on aesthetics (how it looks) or will we be marked down if we use too many sprites etc. Or will it just be a poll and everyone casts their votes so it doesn't matter what you do...?

I think it need more ground rules as in badlands or jungles... cause with desert its hard to compete when being jungle tileset.

Im thinking about almost dead spowning pool right now, but is it possible to cloak a spowning pool?

Ok, although this will be a poll, I hope people realize that although desert might be easy to make a good swamp in, other tilesets require more skill, and should be comemorated more. I am almost having thoughts of taking desert out of this competition, because I realize it takes almost no skill. If anyone objects I won't do it, but if not...

Yea take out desert then it'll be really interesting to see what people have come up with. I'm finding it really difficult to make it look wet like a swamp in jungle terrain. You will still be able to use desert doodads though right?

Any doodads would be fine, so long as they improve the look of it, and would have the feeling of a swamp.

Hopefuly I can get it to you If I manage to with Spyware on my computer...

4 Days to go, and I still haven't gotten a single entrant! Does everyone just not care, or is this to difficult a task to ask?

I'm only about 20% done. I hardly worked on it though, I'll get moving on it more.

Spyware problems put my map out of the contest...

I do say it was the coolest looking swamp using Twilite Terrain
