When the UED fled after the battle of Omega, some chose to make a stand at a isolated, nameless space platform...
As the subtitle says, this is my first melee map. Suggestion are always welcome.

It might be me, but I can't only see about 1/8 of the screenshot for some reason.
It's not just you. I opened up the map and I don't want to go into a whole lot of detail but I'll tell you the main problem with this map. Should the game go past the early stages Terran will rush tanks and make it very difficult to get out of their own main. I'm refering to the middle cliff that over looks the main's entrance.
I changed the middle to accomodate for siege tanks. I also fixed the screenshot. I considered closing the middle alltogether but decided not to.
Hmm, only three routes, and theyre all pretty far apart. I think you should open up the mains a bit more. By that, I mean remove those thin walls surrounding the main that leads outwards. Doing so should provide more room for fighting, because right now, it seems like a lot of the fighting will be near center, and not much elsewhere.
I think there should be less gas only expansions, like on the high platform i would add some minerals.
Taking what you've said into consideration, I've modified the map heavily, most of all the middle. You'll see what I mean (screen and link modified).
The high ground gases in the corners only have 3000 gas in them.
I like that a bit more. This map is nt bad, dont get me wrong. But i just think the setup looks odd, that isnt neccesarily a bad thing though. Overall good job on your first map.
Thank you very much. I'd like to continue my melee map-making, as it's a whole lot faster than making UMSs.
I'll probably continue making some more small edits on this.
Hey midnight!
I like the idea of a raised center that players can "pass" thru, but I don't like that there's no option to realistically go "around" it. I think if you include a built up center you should also offer an alternative. Take a look at Yenku's Snowy pass for an example of what I mean.
Again, as with your other map, these maps are really "eye-catching" and very visually stimulating. They look great! They just aren't going to "play" very well. Your definitely an artist, now you just need to learn how to manipulate your art for function.
You show promise!
Well thank you very much.
There are three paths to the other side: middle, top, and bottom.
