Staredit Network -> Serious Discussion -> Please just stop

Can we just stop with the religious commentary thats going on seriously its getting annoying everywhere I go some christian has to start talking about his beliefs, or about what is or is not moraly wrong, like all these gay/christian topic crap.

Another thing is I was told by some people on this forum if your not going to participate with what we are talking about then don't post on it. Heres an idea if you dont like what I have to say about it, then dont start a topic about it here, go to a christian forum or w/e, you can't possibly expect to post something like any religious topic and not have someone wanna express their view, espescially on one like this where in my opinion shouldnt be welcome, I am making this post after someone tells me not to post reply, well don't start it.

I don't start topics like Christianity is stupid, so don't post Christianity is awesome topics, seems like a fair compromise to me. It also seems to me by the postings in these topics that 3/4 of the members on this forum are not christian.

I must be blind; I don't see any topics out there close enough to "This religion is better". People are Christian, or they're not (which is totally normal, I believe). If that person thinks he did the right religion choice, then let it be; He/she will debate on her views of life.

I really enjoy arguing about Christianity, but I haven't developed my arguments enough yet to move on to forums specialized for religious debate. So this is a good training ground for me. Plus, I can look at StarCraft and theological discussions at the same place. Rapture biggrin.gif .

my point is that if someones going to tell me not to post, then they shouldnt post at all, its all im saying.

If you dont like my views, then dont share yours, thats all I'm trying to say.

I agree that the christian point is sometimes biased and overused, but this is the serious discussion section, so all opinions should have a chance to be heard.

By the way, a comprehensive list of biblical contradicitions i kept here

Once again, I find myself agreeing with one of the Great Eight's posts.

To discuss 'views'.

That's because the posts u've made aren't suppose to be made or are made in the wrong threads. There's a logical and clear reason for why we tell you to stop. FOr instance, you posted a post saying "chrisitianity is nonsense" in a thread that's meant for questions people have about christianity. it's just like if you posted in a feedback forum saying something completely off topic like "Hey everyone! Come to my site here @ www.whatever.com."

What gives you more right for you to say your views that we don't like and for us to shut up and not say ours?

Oh no - so we're siding with the religious fanatics against the newcomer, I see...

I'm also slightly put out by the number of religious topics and the emergence of firebrand preaching in this forum, but I find it tolerable. Likewise, I totally understand your frustration, Phoenix, when some zealous crackpot dismisses your thought-out and logical arguments as 'nonsense.'

Still, you did barge in on a topic that was clearly marked as not being for Christianity bashing - which is why you're now being shot down.

I think it's fine for people to contradict others views as long as they give a logical reason why,

for instance if i were to make up a religion in which i stated that in my beliefs no animal can fly, now if someone pointed out the birds can obviiusely fly then this would be fine comenntary, but lets say someone was to say, some animals obviously can fly becuase of SPORK!!!111one.. then this would be negative.

what i'm saying is that if someone has good reason not to look at things the same way and has a logical argument for their side then it's fine that they state so.

Rhiom, I know what angle you're coming from and I agree with you. But cases will not be as simple as no animal can fly. Obviously, as we can all observe that that animals do fly. It is usually the points that are more internal that others may not be able to comprehend, even with evidence. Because of the fact they can choose to deny the evidence in their angle of view, whether the evidence is an observation or a logical inference/ opinion.

I agree. Well, except Noz here is training me so that I face religons outside of christians better...

This topic really doesn't cut it as Serious Discussion. It sounds more like a rant to me, and although the point is valid it's been made many times before.

and why do I have problems spotting any recognition towards atheist nutcases? There are a few...let's go on a treasure hunt to find them! First one to the stake wins! happy.gif
