It seems to me that quite a lot of ppl who dont make maps populate staredit. Why go to staredit if u dont make maps. I propose that alll members be required to post either and explanation of lack of a map, or a map, evr year. This also must be a quality map. This, of course, would exclude admins, and mampaking porgram creators.

Then we'd be more like a clan. EVERYONE should be allowed in to learn and make maps. If you dont make maps, its not my problem.

You're right sir, I'll leave this site for not making maps. Then, the site wouldn't exist because I would stop paying for it... and then no one will be here.

I haven't released a map in about 10 months and people still think of me as a pretty advanced mapmaker.
We all have our reasons for not making maps. During the last 10 months, I had have to reformat my computer once and gotten a new one(I lost several projects at each time). I've been working on the same map since like December, I could've done it in 2 weeks but I chose to perfect it.
If there was such an obligation to be a good mapmaker, neither you nor I would be here because we nevery would've known about the site.
Don't exclude admins/staff just becasue were godly, all of us started as members except Yoshi. And he started the site as a good mapper trying to help others.
And the majority of us don't make maps becasue we are either doing Tutorials, Experimental Maps, Helping other people, or working. In my case I'm not working on my map becasue I'm managing the SEN Mapamking Team, building my own website and working on the DLDB and moderating the forum. I believe that at least helping another person with a map is far more efficient and betetr for the community than doing your own map.
In my opinion, pardon me for this but, it's quite stupid to implement this rule. And even more stupid becasue the peron who wants to implement this has not uploaded 1 good map of his to the DLDB let alone, he hasn't even uploaded a single file.
There it is, I'll personally congratulate you in person if you can convince Yoshi and Ip.

This site was oringally started to offer free map making assistance and have map makers of all skill level - even if they dont make maps. Heck, I don't even make maps right now, but I enjoy being on the site and programming.

I think that quota is just a terrible idea. So what if people don't make maps? This is a site to give help to ones that do, and hang around and discuss things. Some people also just post in the other forums and don't even go to the mapmaking sections, which is fine I think.
