It used to be a channel monitor but I guess they were having problems with it (again) so it was taken down (probably till v5 or not to be revived ever).

Yeah, it was a webbot hosted by another site. However, some of the people who run it proved to be unreliable and rude when the system went down, responding saying things like "We know what the problem is, but we'll fix it whenever we feel like because its a free service" and so on.
When you have a free service, you're doing it to assist other people by providing it because you want to help, not because you have to. Some of these people obviously didn't like helping.
If my downloads database were to go down, I'd fix it asap because I enjoy helping others download things. I don't have to have it, but I do. There are still some bugs, which I hope to fix in SEN v5.
Anyways, bottom line, too unreliable, and the header is going to change with v5 anyway, so we figured its not a big deal.

You may think IE is better than Firefox and I respect that.
Once you start making your own webpage on HTML not those website builders, you will see the difference between the two browsers.
IE only supports CSS1 and parts of CSS2.
Firefox fully supports both of them.
IE doesn't correctly place tables inside tables.
IE displays some fonts the wrong way and makes them look fuzzy.
These are all experiences from my site.

Opera is almost as bad as IE. AND they charge you for it.
