Hi, I was wondering about the tutorial link above about Starforge or scmdraft can have a tileset that can be built on. I was wondering;
1)Can the tiles really enable being built on in game?

2)If this can, can we use this to play on melee games? Is playing melee games on installation terrain legal on bnet?

wow making the melee map out of those tiles (square) that is gonna take quite a long time and also it would be hard to get rid of the blockiness unless you make it without cliffs and such

I use these, only problem is creep.
It does come up, but Blizzard got rid of creep tiles [on installation] so your units just bounce around till they get on the edge, so its really only good in UMS when zerg is disabled somehow.

I don't know what you asking about in your first question but for your second question. YES, you could play melee on installation game, but....HAHAHAHAH all you have to do is send the workers to attack the enemy and sit there hoping that you win, lol w00t.gif because you cant build any buildings on installation terrain exept your Starting building(Nexus, Command center, or Hatcher).

No, we put that tutorial there to throw you off and make you think you can do things you really can't. That's how SEN works. smile.gif

I have experimented with the installation terrain...You can't play melee on installation terrain(oops). Turns out, you can't make melee type games on installation terrain. But I wonder if you can build stuff in the terrain using used map settings. confused.gif

Of course you can. Observer maps are just melee maps in UMS mode with triggers giving players vision.

The unused tiles are very weird in every tileset. They seem to have no height, other than ground. It is like ramp, but with the standard look. So it is rather pointless to use them unless you dont like the look of ramp tiles or the area is surrounded by water.

You can build on them all, (like ashworlds are creep tiles biggrin.gif buildable on creep)

If you look through, all tilesets have them and you CAN build on them. sometimes you find multiple to make them match and not be blocky.

Some doodads are also unused *cough*baldandsBobsGuns*cough*
but you cant walk on them.
