The first two are going to be used in my upcoming RPG. The third is just something I put together today. They're quaint, and still essentially unfinished. Well, here they are.
The bridge is pretty good. The others are nice, but I like the bridge the most.
I love the last one, I might have to use that sometime.
That and the second one, I could see these being very usefull.
Just a little less sprites, but wow!
Yeah, I thought it was a bit sprite intensive. I put a lot of work into it, but I eventually just copped out and sprited it up. Laziness.
You're really improving on your terrain.
I think persoanly the 3rd one should be a hall of famer!!!
Its totaly amazing I never thought of a bridge on land before
I vouge For A HALL OF FAMER
I have to agree, this could be a revolutionizing factor in the world of terrain! Its temple to high dirt, and its done smoothly! That is definatly a hoffer. I'm still amazed.
And can I use this in a map I'm making?
Can you show us some spriteless versions? I really like them all (espescially the middle)
i dont get what the first one is supposed to be, i like the last one but would like to see it without sprites, the 2nd one is really kool...
Gj indeed. I'd suggest something along the lines of making brushes of those, sprite-free versions, doing other similar blends, or anything else that would actually make it useful to the rest of us, but it seems you all would rather just show off your terrains for kicks, instead of being useful. Well I'll leave you to it then.
But seriously: You guys really need to use other tilesets than Jungle, for a change.
I actually just wanted feedback. if there's any way to improve them, if anyone finds something wrong with them, etc. I'm not a huge fan of anything besides Jungle, but I can see where your frustration comes from, (seeing that there's about two non-Jungle terrain pieces on the entire forum).

lol tux, yur so right, only problem is that jungle and badlands is the most funcional tilesets...
A bridge built on land, that's pretty tight.
I will definately have to use that idea, if you don't mind that is.
Also, the second one is pretty original as well—it could serve as some sort of temple I suppose.

Why? The majority of people like Jungle ... and it's the easier to work with when it comes to extended terrain.
Each terrain has it's own use, and jungle is useful for almost anything.
Jungle doesn't allow tech. I doubt 99% of all RPGs are strictly medieval-based, so Jungle is going to have instances where it's not appropriate. Sprites and tile butchery can only go so far to compensate for that.
That's why I said each terrain has it's use. But you must admit that the greater majority of "RPG" style maps are medieval based.
If people want medieval-style, just use W3. Not to sound blasphemous, but Starcraft isn't really equipped to represent fantasy medieval style in the first place, whereas W3 is basically just that. If all anyone can come up with is medieval derivative schtick, then you guys seriously need a few shots of creativity and originality. I find modern and futuristic to be much more entertaining than nebulous swords and sorcery themes, personally.
Man, I wish blizzard had thought to combine jungle and badlands. It's not like that would have been impossible (they're almost the same, anyway).
Tilesets are hardcoded into the SC engine right? I remember slightly of someone making a mod with multiple tilesets though, maybe there's a way to combine them and use them with the automoder? I'll do some research on this, but ya, I agree with Tux, we need to venture into extended terrain on diff tilesets, jungle is getting old, Id like to see some nice Snow Extended brushes!
Those exsist, and they look horrid. (no offence to anyone)
The tileset I've been experimenting with lately is space, it has a few ok blends, but jungle trumps all.

Well it isn't really ruins to high dirt, it is a bridge on land to dirt... But nice done, just too much sprites there, but if you keep blending you maybe will find a solution
I've cut done on sprites on the bridge, from around 25 to 16. I think it looks better.
Pretty awesome! I dont see much blockiness at all. There might be alot of sprites but i like the idea. And the piece. Good for an RPG.
GJ!

I recently made this. Yeah, it's not so good now, but I thought I'd post it anyways.
Tux, not all Medeival settings are in a jungle landscape—there were pleanty of other landscapes in those times.

That's like saying the jungle tileset's only use is for medeival types maps which is not the case.
I'd have to agree though, I'd like to see some variation in tilesets for RPG type maps.
ADDED: By the way, Theoretical Human, good work with the temple pathways in the water—haven't seen that before. It could stand to be worked on a bit, but it's block-less for the most part.
You can edit the terrain brushes, but its extremely time consuming and complicated, and i've only seen two people capable of it
WG and Taer.
