Here's what I personally think of calling gays sinners: It's discrimination. Why? Because it's looking down on people for something about them as opposed to something they're doing. Now you can argue for both places, but then again, you can quite clearly SAY that people who like oranges and not pears are simply choosing to like oranges more then pears, but the fact is that it won't change discrimination into something else. What's so bad about it anyways? Some ancient texts written by people two thousand years ago when people believed in Sun Gods and diseases where brought on by sin say it's wrong? Yeah, that's a really logical way to base your opinions. Oh no, God wrote those books? No. People simply want the world to be one way and will often lie to make it that way.

Well once we all figure out the meaning of life everything will be pointless as we will be able to manipulate every aspect of the world as we want and realize that we are just made up of tiny particles that can easily be destroyed, so it doesn't matter.

They are scared of change, but that is obviously no backing for any argument, so they turn to ancient text that has been used for thousands of years and thus, since they wholeheartedly believe whatever was shoved down their throat since their years as a child, use that as their backing. There's no point in arguing with bull-headed idiots.

So I discriminate... Why would I care. Gays are not normal.

Saying gays are not normal isn't discrimination. Saying homosexuality is a desease or a plague is much worst.

Of course, Lisk, you're right! How could the rest of us have missed it? We should judge people based on how close they conform to the current standard of normalcy. I guess we should discriminate against smart people and the handicapped, too. According to your logic, anyway.

Believe it or not, people DO discriminate against smart people and the handicapped regularly. You'll have to kill humanity to kill discrimination. What we are today is the product of those who survived to spread their genes eons ago, and they survived by discrimination of sorts. Get used to it.

I don't mind gays, though I agree religion goes to far (or at least, the people who interpret it) in their definition of sins and such. But I can no more argue against religion than I can human ignorance, which is what discrimination is all about (basically). If someone finds a way to remove people's ignorance, the rest will fall into place easily enough.

Of course we discriminate. But we usually try not to. Lisk isn't even making the attempt.

You talk about discrimination? While you are blasting Christianity? And you call that justice? For whatever sad world you live in I will pray for you.

No. I'm not blasting Christianity, I'm just saying that people are reading their own beliefs into the Bible, and that it comes from thousand of years ago, where people, were, of course, less knowledgable. Simply don't read the Bible literally, it's a stupid thing to do.

I posted it when I was angry. When I'm angry I tend to say things I don't mean.

That can't be an excuse for things. Ok, I will kill someone because I am angry. Oops I didn't mean to. Hmm. I suggest you apologize for those statements or just stop this topic. It doesn't seem to be going anywhere seeing as how its fueled by your hatred for Christians.

denouncing gays or even calling them sinners is not discrimination...not letting them "into" their religion due to sexual preference is discrimation
i would think the correct term should be...sexualism or something
what i mean is that discrimination generally means actions preventing people from doing something due to some characteristic
racism/sexism is like discrimination but also includes what, calling someone a censored.gif can be preceived as racism but not discrimination (you see?)

also, the church can translate ancient scrolls any way they want, its not that something that old cant relate to modern life but it isnt "politically correct"

edit: very strict censorship sad.gif that censored word means negro

Discrimination: Treatment or consideration based on class or category rather than individual merit; partiality or prejudice. So, actually, no, it is. I don't hate Christians. I dislike the beliefs of Fundamentalists. I hate people, not groups. Yeah, but the topic was overall just a rant. Uh, sorry?
