My map was largely inspired from Operation:Suicide by darqwing. His map was a very exciting five or six player (depending on the version) map from the Terran point of view. You are required to attack the Overmind against all odds and meanwhile protect your downed battlecruiser. Fun and adrenaline-filled, if you ask me.
I had tried making little maps, but I couldn't seem to come up with anything interesting. Eventually I decided to mimic many of the concepts of darqwing, but kind of on the hope of the bigger-and-better-rehash concept. As I worked on it, I tried to keep it consistent with the existing Starcraft storyline, with the opportunity for the Protoss to destroy the now ruling mind of the Zerg, Sarah Kerrigan, the Queen of Blades.
I developed its own internal plot, worked out as many glitches as I could, and have now been trying to circulate it around the internet, hoping people will enjoy my little piece of work. I must say I am proud of my map, and if people want to attempt an all-but-ludicrous attack on Kerrigan (1-4 players, preferably 4), then download my map and try it. I believe few will be disappointed.
I also welcome any input on noted problems or suggestions for improvement. I am continuing to improve upon it and release newer versions. Feel free to rate its current edition as well.

Operation: Suicide,
Was the SHIT!
I lost my version of it, however.. [Comp reformat] I need to see if I can find it again..
'k, I'ma play this, I'll be back in a bit to edit this post. -.-
Addition -
Ok...
Theres some problems with this map,
First of all..
I played by myself and almost beat it, [the Heroes are Godly]
I had 6 goons hold off broods/lisks/lings/drones for 20 minutes, not one died. The AI is somewhat stupid. I love that someone tried to make another Op:Suicide game, but this, with one other person would be fairly easy. I mean, I destroyed almost the entire bottom half of the map, and the only reason I lost, was because I didn't save the Terrans -.-" I'm sure if I tried once more I could do it, since I am no configurated, and know what my men can dish out, and take.
The goons though, are serously like tanks. Too strong.
Furthermore,
Its Jimmy Raynor, not James -.-
Theres other flaws, in this as well, you start off with 20k:20k and an invince Nexus, and I almost lost at beggining cause I was no where near the WarpGate.
And Starting on the left, instead of the bottom felt really awkward.
Anyways,
I give this a 3 out of 5...
It needs work!!
You might want to resubmit + rename your file darth_ender, because the filename is too long for SC to read.
I'll play map later if i have time, hope not wasteful d/l
Ferral, you mean this map..
[attachmentid=7557]
This map some work. The terrain is sort of bland, but what really pissed me off that once I owned the terran base, I wasn't watching and it got destroyed and I lost, even though my warp gate and I had all my units intact. There's too much infested terrain --;;
Moogle.
That was the exact version, well 12.9 something.
You.
PWN!
Thank you so much, me and some friends were actually going to play that later tonight so w007 w007 now we got it, thanx.
Thank you for the input. It can be hard to take constructive criticism at times, but I really want to make it a map worth playing. Yes, I feel it is not quite up to the level of Operation:Suicide, but bear in mind that this is my first map that I decided to post online anywhere. I feel I should make some comments in its defense. It is true that one person could easily do quite a bit of damage on his own. Nevertheless, one of the interesting tricks of the game was that as you further progressed towards Kerrigan, her armies would begin attacking in larger numbers. Therefore, it would become progressively harder. Also, though the bottom route is the easiest and most natural to take, the Terran base is the more heavily guarded path and will fall if not saved quickly and preserved through the ENTIRE game. Try to take that road of attack, and you might find you have a much harder time. It is true that it's rather annoying to be so far from the warp gate. I had done that for the purpose of spreading out the start locations for all four players. I should probably move them closer together. The terrain could look much prettier. I was going for the destroyed Terran world look, but it probably could use some help. And the reason for calling him James Raynor rather than Jimmy is because Jimmy is a nick-name for James. The Protoss generally have a more formal tone about them, and I figured having Zeratul call him James would add that stiff air to his speech. Just my thought process. Thank you for all comments so far. I am still open-minded, and will consider each one, whether or not I will make changes. Just an additional question: does anyone have anything they LIKED about it?
All right, for anyone still interested in my thread here, I have a question. If anybody really likes the idea of another Operation:Suicide, and thinks I should continue with this prohect, will they please let me know? If you think it is a lost cause, please tell me as well.
For about a week and a half I have been working on another map, and I am very pleased with it so far. Some of the criticisms of Queen of Blades were already taken care of (for instance, I like the terrain so far). This map has a far more unique approach, and will probably be more difficult, though it is not a map with sheer numbers being thrown at you.
At any rate, if virtually anyone thinks I should continue to fix the Queen of Blades, I will do so, and hopefully later submit a better product. If not, I will devote all my attention to my new map.
P.S. I am submitting both versions that I have of Operation:Suicide to this site. Version 13.20 is very rare, and has significant differences, though fundamentally it is the same game. Hope everyone would appreciate that, since it is pretty hard to find online.
Well!
I would love another Operation Suicide, and btw, heh, I found some glitches with the map the other day.
I got about a fh, and one of my friends MCED my Imperator, without my knowing [I let him camp the Warp Gate] anyways, he respawned, and ME and MY friend both had Imperators, so, to see how far we could go with this, we started mcing each others heroes, in the end we had like 10 heroes a piece, Jelads and Imperators, so we massed them and with Pythias and Palidens, the map was vanquished rather fast, we blocked off the terran base, and raped alot of area, but.. We didn't get far, because he bsed me, lmao, so I inturn bsed him and wiped him out. So, thats another thing you should fix, Once a hero dies throw him in a goon or some ground unit OR just have him dead for good.
Anyways,
I think, that one of three thigns.
1) Scrap the map.
2) Finish the other map then, revamp this.
3) Finish the other map then, RESTART this one from scratch.
Personally,
I would like it if you went with 2 or 3.
But, meh, its up to you. And by any chance, could you post that Op: Suicide 13.20 in here
Anyways,
Good luck.
Thats a pretty decent first map as well.
this is a cool map
Ferral,
Thanks for your reply, and thanks everyone else for their comments. I guess I will be restarting my map somewhat from scratch, probably with or more linear approach and more pretty terrain. Hopefully, most of the triggers will be workable and I can save them for the new version. We shall see, eh? Interestingly, this will then be the fourth time I've redone the terrain.
A little history on the Queen of Blades: my first year of college, I started working on this map. I watched my roommate (who was far better at the game than I) work his way through all six Blizzard campaigns, and then he started working on a map of his own. My brother then sent me my first copy of Op:Suicide, which my roomie and I struggled to beat with only two players, and it became my favorite map. Eventually we succeeded, and I thought it would be fun to expand on the original Starcraft storyline, while mimicking my favorite map. After a couple of unsuccessful attempts, I finally came to an early version of the map here on this site. But my map had to wait 2 1/2 years while I went on a mission for my church and then rekindled my Starcraft interest. I again worked hard, trying to work out the bugs, but with no net at home, and no LAN, I couldn't find all the glitches. Anyway, I did put a lot of work into this map, so it is a bit disappointing to find not a whole lot of people pleased with it. Ah, well. If at first, right...?
Okay, enough of my sob story. I will rework it again, but I will take Ferral's suggestion and finish my other first. I hope to have two versions of it in the end. One for just one player, and one for up to four. I hope to have the one player version ready in a week or two. I'm now much more experienced with the triggers, and I've sought help online. This one is coming along much faster. I guess I like the battles against the big, buff, bad guys. This time, the opponent is Duran. I think it will be better received. We shall see.
Operation:Suicide 13.20 is attached. Both versions should be available to all soon, as I've submitted them. Thanks for noting the glitches, and for the positive feedback as well.
Np,
I fell in love with Op: Suicide in the early days, it used to played alot, the only problem was, my comp got reformatted, and I LOST IT, it was a nightmare come true, I never got to see it again until afew monthes ago, since then I'd played it like crazy on and off. Then lost it again, lmao and got two versions now so w00t. Thanx Moogle and Darth for both versions
Oh yea'.
IF you need any help darth tell me, i.e. testers.
Anyways, I need to get going soon.
Peace.
Thanks for your offer Ferral. I probably will post in this thread a trial version of my new map when it comes. It is known as A Grander Vision, so we'll see how you like it when I'm ready to let you test it out.
