Report, edit, etc...Posted by Zycorax on 2005-04-09 at 21:03:04
30th June 1908, a huge explosion in Tunguska, Sibir, Russia. 1994 km² forest was gone... Scientists found radioactive materials where the explosion was... Any ideas what it could have been?

Meteorite containing radioactive rock.

Some people think it was an alien spacecraft with damaged nuclear reactors.

If they were, The U.S. army would have been all over that.

Still.
I have a hard time believing that it could have been an Alien ship, there would have been some type of grooved imprint, or however there ships are. And that would have been a fast repair, I also think, if the Soviets would have seen an Alien ship crash, they'd've ran to the crash site, guns blazing, till every last one was dead for "INVADING THE MOTHERLAND!!!!"

Then blame it on U.S. technology, bam another war.

I'm not sure w.e it was, so I won't state what I think it was. wink.gif
But, I will disagree with opinions happy.gif

Why would an alien spacecraft have nuclear reactors? And it couldn't have been a nuclear explosion... the technology wouldn't have been developed for decades after that. I think that meteorite theory sounds the most soundproof right now. It makes the most sense and is the most logical.

Nova covered this a while ago, I forget most of it but they disproved that it was nukes, and it had characteristics like a meteor, but there was some difference about it which stumped them. I saw that a long time ago, it's hard to remember. pinch.gif

Why wouldn't an alien spaceship have nuclear reactors? tongue.gif

Oh, and Russia was an aristocratic empire in 1908, to whoever's going on about Soviets.

Omfg,
I don't care, Russia will always be Soviets!!
J/k lol,
Still.

There prideful, and defensive.

Anyways,
Because, just because its an alien spacecraft, doesn't mean its far advance, it could be as simple as us, or simpler, or smarter. -.-

lemme give you all the info on that

witnesses say the sky burst into flames and was split into much like a boat moveing through water.

"The blast was so great that the shock waves circled the globe twice is was so great that it devistated an area 62 miles wide. its explosive power was fifteen hundred times the power of a single atom bomb."

Carl Sagon a scentist at Cornell University thinks the blast was caused by a peice of comet encke a large chuck entered the earths atmostphere travaling at the speed of seventy thousand miles per hour at that speed the comet made mostly of ice would explode in air and have an effect much like a nukualr explosion. this however is a very slim chance. the peices would have to be just right for this to work. and if this is indeed what happend a single degree lower could have caused it to plunge into the earth and explode underground.

two other theorys are a that a tiny black whole made contact with the earth. and final theory is that anti matter colided with the earths matter causing a enormus explosion.

i like to beleave Sagons Theory mellow.gif
