I'd love to see the map so I could figure out what the problem could be. There are a lot of different ways to contact me, and you obviously found this forum...so why not report the problem?

i just notice that dont lock your maps and saved it over it without locking it at the same time it will screw up your map by a few triggers and you cant go to locations and redit them or amke a new trigger. is this bug or has this been discused
i like starforge too. but i hate it when this happens but i usually save it three copys.

yes thats what i was talking about lol and i guess if you save ass staredit. can you still open it in staredit then?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Heimdal on 2005-04-12 at 18:31:04
As long as the map had not previously been saved as Final, saving it as SE-Compatible will allow you to open the map in staredit.

i hate starforge in my oppion it sucks i like scmdraft way over it even tho starforge has it's advantages but i really dont like it at all
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Shift on 2005-04-12 at 23:55:07
Starforge is the best, I use it for nearly everything. Scmdraft just isn't fast enough in maps with lots of units/trigs/locations, but I still use it occasionally.

Even though StarForge has a few set backs (Bugs,CreatUnitwithProps,IsoTerrain) that bring it down a little. But, StarForge is still one Hell of an Editor. Heimdal did a great job with it.
**Looks up and preys that Heimdal finishes SF...

SCMDraft 2 is the slowest thing I've ever seen >.<
When your editing terrain it loads with the master set 1 tile at a time, then once there loaded it reloads them again. Starforge is like a giant image so you dont have to worry about it loading them.
SCMDraft2 isnt smooth when scrolling, it loads that section of the map.
Only think i like about SCMD2 is that it shows unit placeability, and you can change the way you place (Normal, Anywhere, Stacked).
Wow Starforge should have that too; then StarForge would be even better (which is amazing because it already is the best editor out there )

since the 0.5.5 prerelease of scmdraft runs smoothly on a 150 mhz laptop with 16 mb ram, I would like to know what kind of PC you are using.

the problem with starforge is the creation of terrain ...
but for triggers this is good .... only if someone know the way for create these ... I, for example, need a extense tutorial ... now!

on starforge i really never understood the trigger thing that was anthor reason y i hate it so much and scmdraft 2 isn't slow at all i think it's good
Report, edit, etc...Posted by O)FaRTy1billion on 2005-04-16 at 01:29:48
y do people keep saying SCMDraft2 isnt slow, it has to draw everything every time you moe the screen... Annoyance!
SF triggers you can copy sections or wholes to other triggers without too much trouble. I like the text triggers. NEVER CHANGE THEM!!!!!!!!
