Horse race tracks I think are made of dirt, and not asphalt. The horse's hooves would shatter at a top-speed run if it were on a solid surface like that.

There should be a fence on the inside to make sure that they all go the correct distance.

Actually in my opinion it looks nothing like a horse track.

Use extended terrain to put the installation cliffs nearer the dirt.

Eh, I never really enjoyed "racing" maps on Starcraft—so I don't really like it because I don't believe it could be put to good use.
