Could we see larger screens without the sprites? That would help.

Maybe tommorow, i can post a pic with a larger size and one that has no sprites, any. Anyway, can you give me your commentS??? It's for the two terrains. helpsmilie.gif

Also, my terrain looks like a tropical island, isn't it?
And the Stairs look like a landslide... ermm.gif

It looks pretty good. I would be better if you could get some larger pictures, but from what I can see, it looks very good. The stairs do kind of look like a rock slide, and i like all the blending.

It's good, I like it. Just you need to use less sprites and maybe vary the placement of them a bit more. I love how you got the dirt slide to look as if its a path through a jungle, really nice gj. biggrin.gif

larger screenshots, large screenshots w/o sprites, and a sprite count is neccesary, but from what i can see it looks extremely good for the first tries (if they are, i just havent seen u post anything else in terrain) but if they arent yur first tries its still good...

On the picture it says there are 390 sprites. It looks pretty but you'll want to cut down on the sprites if you want to make a map with this.

When i am making this map, i am also planning to make it as a wallpaper (hahaha) because I have no wallpaper. I'll try that. thanks guys smile.gif

The sprite count in scmdraft 2 prerelease#7 is unlimited, i've noticed it. Here is a larger version, unfortunately, i can't view a map w/o sprites. Bec. my computer is kinda slow right now and i can't open scmdraft while surfing the net. My 54 kbps is dying. wink.gif

Ohhh, my prepaid is cutting off. I can upload this tommorow if you have the patience. I can get unlimited surfing time from 12 am to 7 am.

Sorry guys. cry.gif

From what i can see, that pretty awesome! I cant comment much since i can barely see anything.... but the HUGE sprite usage doesnt bother me that much, looks pretty good achuly. Good Job.

A lot of people mistakenly believe that they can put infinite sprites into their map just because the editor has no limit. In reality, there is a limit to what the game can handle and at some point the lag and glitchiness caused by a massive sprite count will render your map unplayable.

Okay, here is the larger version that you had been asking for. smile.gif

I'm wondering, will the dust effects can be gone when played in the map?

its good, but waaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyy too many sprites, in game that would be really laggy, speaking of wich how about an ingame screenshot... but i like the temple door thing on the bridge and the staircase that blends well with the high dirt...

I'd have to agree with the rest of the population who have posted a reply or so... they're über sprite-intensive.

I, myself, am not the best at placing sprites either.

I will tell you though from an experienced Staredit terraining point of view that there are over-excessive amounts of doodads.

Besides, in short, it would look much better without all the clutter.

That was complete spam Gradius.

I'm not usually critical about spam, because I, myself, have been called a spammer before (I don't believe I am). In any case, I come and post on this forum to read and suggest about newly designed terrain, not cute little kitty cats—or waterfalls, for that matter.

Thats funny. Because every post i read seems to say this and nothing else.
"Nice terrain. to many sprites. It blends nicely"

If you take a look at the terrain forum you will notice that you have the last post in almost every topic. Your previous post doesnt help either.

Lets get back on topic now. Your terrain has to many sprites and it blends nicely.

Gradius, if you read my posts, they all have an experienced and thoroughly thought out meaning behind them.

I post in the terrain forum a lot merely because I enjoy the designing of terrain and I excel in it, supposively.
