Since we need fresh ideas... how about this... make terrain of scenes from any of Tolkien's works!
I'll start out with Mt. Doom.

Cool mountain, even though I agree in ashworld it would look even better. I think maby you should try to make the mountain really big and higher? Because right now it looks more like a series of cliff than mountain.... Just a suggestion.

Well, I don't think any units can actually make it by the lowest level because of its narrowness. Try enlarging the path a bit. I think it looks very nice though, no blockiness that I saw.

A good ent effect could be made with a mod that puts tree sprites for on hydralisks or something as sub units.
Locations? Lesse... Rauros falls, Cirith Ungol, Weathertop, Ford of Rivendell (complete with exploder effect water flood thingie), um... those mountains (forget the name).... yeah. All I can think of off top of my head.
