People weren't as impressed with my Queen of Blades map as I was hoping, causing me to re-think some map making strategies. I will eventually do some re-work on that map, but lately I've been devoting time to a different project, one that I feel holds a great deal of uniqueness. Most maps involving Duran and his plot at crossing Zerg and Protoss require mods. I have however been successful at creating some interesting Zerg/Protoss mixes with the use of normal triggers. The graphics are nothing new, but the effects of certain units are quite interesting. This map is very frustrating to play, I warn, because of the difficulty of these new units. I don't want to give too much away, prefering the effects to surprise players. However, I will name two new units and one special ability. Infested Zealots will be constantly thrown at you, so keep your guard up. They're worse than you might think. I also have an Infested Dark Templar named Gal'dun, who physically heals, as well as having recharging shields. That's actually probably the least interesting effect, but I don't want to spoil any others. I will post an early version in this thread for people to download and give feedback within the next two or three days. Hope people will like it.

Okay, I'm sorry folks, but I will need one more day on this map. I am working on getting all my homework done as I finish this semester. I would be ready, but I found a glitch that takes a while to rework since it is a rather complicated trigger system. I really think few will be disappointed with the effects. Let me tell all this: my first release will be only an attachment in this forum, and it will be rather anti-climactic. Since I've been working the plot as I go, it doesn't have a very satisfying ending. I have figured just today what I am going to do, but in order to keep my promise of releasing a beta in this forum, don't expect an exciting ending. Just enjoy the fighting. To keep the few who read this interested, my favorite trick is my use of infested zealots (yes, they are the graphics for Fenix). Let's just say they are far more dangerous than infested terrans. You will definitely want most guys to steer clear. Those who have offered to test, when I put in on the net tonight or tomorrow, I would truly value your opinions and input. Thanks.

Well, here it is. Absolutely not the complete version of the map, but enough of it for you to get the idea of how it works. Since I haven't gotten this part working yet, know that your zealots are immune to certain effects that your Terran units will suffer. For an idea of how complicated my trigger system is to get a certain effect with the infested zealots, take a gander at the triggers used for player eight. There are over 400! All player eight does is control the infested zealots. When this map is completed, I believe its originality will be somewhat impressive. I hope people like this sort of beta version. Please let me know of any problems with it.
(P.S. I have now added a newer version, so just d/l that one and tell me what you think. Don't bother with this one anymore, although if you have already downloaded and played this one, tell me what glitches you found as they may still be present in the later version.)

Again, all who download this cannot expect a completed map. There will be problems. I really would just like people to see the triggers I've worked into it so far. Ferral, hope your computer starts to work better. Hey, maybe somebody could help me. Why does the wait function not work in my triggers? If I use it, everything that is supposed to happen after it never happens. I am using hyper triggers, and they seem to work. Would they perhaps be the reason why nothing else waits? Just if anyone knows. Again, as far as the map goes, improvements are being made as I test it myself. I would still really like others to test it out as well. PLEASE download and just try it out for half an hour. I want to make a good original map. Thanks.

Here is an newer version of A Grander Vision. I think I'm closer to being done than I realized. I still need feedback on it though, to know what glitches people find. I find my own, and try to fix them, but I know others out there will find different ones. I need input please. This version should be rather playable.
I want to know what it takes to get people to post here. I don't get nearly the replies I see others get. I have only had three downloads of the older version of my map. Could people please be a little more willing to help me out here? Thank you.
I have an idea. Maybe I don't advertise properly. For anyone who is interested and hasn't tried it out yet, there are a few unique things about my map. The most interesting to me is the presence of the infested zealots. These little boogers never come in massive hordes, but they don't ever stop coming unless you destroy the vats that produce them. What they do is when they get in a close enough range, they blow up, destroying any Terran unit within a certain range. Their explosions aren't physical, but rather they release raw psychic energy that destroys the minds they were particularly attuned to. That means that they kill Terran units, but do not harm Protoss or Zerg, neither do they hurt any buildings. However, they still retain their fighting ability, so they can take out other units in melee combat.
Next is my infested Dark Templar, Gal'dun (whose name is coincidentally similar to a WC2 character, but I seriously didn't intend to do that). He is of course invisible, and his attack and defense abilities are awesome. He only shows 10 actual hit points (non-shield), but he only loses one with every hit. He slowly rejuvinates these points, so he must be eliminated before he begins healing. Also, When he kills a firebat, a ghost, or a marine, they become an infested version of the same unit, now fighting against their former comrades.
These particular features were difficult to perfect, so I would appreciate any suggestions on them. Please download and give feedback. Good luck, this is a hard mission.

I downloaded your map, and it was great! I recomend it to anyone who likes melee campaigns. The "new" infested units added a very nice touch and they were interesting to play against, especially the Infested DT (Gal'Dun).
Once suggestion I have is when the admiral says "we have located the chyrsalis", I had already found it. You could add a trigger that plays the message if you find it prematurely, and still reveal it if the player is slow to find it.

As far as Queen of Blades, I don't know if I can get it out during the summer. I have taken a job that will be keeping me busy all summer. I will travel to another state to become a dreaded door-to-door salesman. I will not be taking my computer with me, but leaving it in the hands of my roommate (which does make me a little nervous). I will probably get as much rework done as possible on Queen of Blades, but if it's not done by the 16th, I'm sorry but it won't get finished till next semester. If you want to re-d/l both op:suicides, they are in the defense/offense section here. Thanks for the reply.
Forgive my ignorance, but when I submit this map, what category should I submit it to? Is it UMS Melee?
This map has now been been submitted. Soon, everyone can enjoy a very unique and interesting melee style map. I promise that no one will be disappointed. Still, if there are glitches, I hope people will tell me. I am going to do an out-of-state summer job away from my computer, but I will fix problems as soon as I can when I return.
