Staredit Network -> StarForge -> Saving using starforge

I know that people have told me that starforge isn't the best thing to use to save your map...but I used it to save anyway on one of my maps. The thing was my comp got messed up a week ago, so I got no back ups of it so my friend gave the map back to me. I protected my map with starforge but I can't open it back up. Is there anyway to reopen my protected map using starforge or something?

What protector did you use? And starforge does not open protected maps. Although some maps can't be opened in X-tra editor but can be opened in Starforge.

You could always use that new trigger viewer program to at least see your code again and maybe remake it blink.gif . Or use an unprotector... if you didn't use Ubernation on the map biggrin.gif .

The point of protecting a map is so you can't reopen it. When you protect it save it as "XXXX(p)" or something, so it will have a (P) tag, then you still have the unprotected.

I used starforge as a protector for my map and nothing else...When I protected it I clicked it as final release...I lost my backups of my map and my friend gave me back my recent map demo. Iworked on my rpg for a long time so I don't really want to go thru all that again..but is there anyway or something to unprotect maps I made?

I don't know of any way to unprotect a StarForge protected map, maybe someone else does?

I could help if you provide the proper evidence that you are the creator of the map...?

I really don't like to use SF for protection because if you save it as the Final Release and then save it as a normal version, it will protect that normal version. It's a glitch sad.gif

You know how if you save something, and then save it again its the exact same data? Thats what happens. It isn't really a glitch, its just when you save as protected it is actually the protection is in the opened map.
