I think it would be nice if there was a little flashing icon next to the 'New Messages' text whenever there is a new message in your inbox. I tend to ignore that area unless I'm going to my control panel.
So if there was like an animated gif or something that drew attention whenever a person has a new message I think a lot of people would be able to respond faster, I know I would.

Or you can turn this option to yes:
Then when you click on a page after someone has sent you a PM, there will be a frame at the top of the page saying in red that you have a new PM.

Really... Who wouldent notice a big red box at the top of the page... Hmm... Maybe color blind people, But that would be the only excuse.

No, even colorblind people would see it because the colors from everything else are so different.

Already as it is, you get that big box that pops up whenever a new pm comes. Then you know you have at least one PM waiting. Thats how I do it.

SENv5 has no popup thingy... It's hawt... I'll consider a small (slow) blinking icon though, it didn't cross my mind.
Invision 2.1 has a inscreen popup that is movable! While I'm sure the coding behind it is sexy, the popup itself will certainly annoy me more than our current state.

Nope, Just a small slow blinking box wouldent be noticed as much as a big red box.
