I did not find any tutorials on this topic and this may be another stupid question but...
Whats with the "strings" thing. And how do I display text and stuff like that without it being a location/unit name? It all doesnt make sense to me.

A string is just a bunch of characters in quotes (usually in quotes).
On StarEdit when ever you put any text anywhere (E.g. a trigger) it creates a string.

You don't need to select something from the side list when making a new string.

The string editor is mainly provided to edit existing strings and preview them. Read the power users thread for some cool stuff it can do.
