I know its been done many times, there are so many LOTR maps out there, but I havent found one thats as accurate to the Book and or Movie as Ide Like.
In the one Ive been working on for about 2 months now, Ive been melding the ideas I've seen and thought of into one grand map.
Here are the basics:
Players:
Mordor
Isengard
Gondor
Rohan
Elves
Cities: Starting controller:Minas Morgal
MordorThe Black Tower
MordorIsengard
Isengard(Need Another)
Isengard (Ideas???)
Minas Tirith
GondorDol Amroth
GondorHelms Deep
Rohan(Need Another)
Rohan (Dont have room for Edoras)
Rivendell
ElvesLorien
ElvesOsgiliath
Gondor / MordorI also need Ideas for unit creation, theres the idea of building castles, but there isnt much room in the cities, so thats very limited, you can always but them outside of the cities, but then they could hide them around the map. So ideas for that would help, the average city size is about an inch or one command center from the city representing building to the wall.
Some basics on the cities:I got this Idea from a LOTR Forum I read from this site, Ide give credit to who said it, but I forgot who, Sorry.
His Idea was to make the cities so you cant destroy them, which makes total sence, cause in the story they only damage the cities not destroy them.
So heres how it works, Every city has one main building, which says the city name
Then the city has a outer wall. consisting of Supply Depos, Starport Towers, and some doodad, which are all Invinsable, except 2 in Helms deep. The wall also consists of Photon cannons for representing the city defences, they cant die, but they arent overpowering. Some have gates, which are controlled not by units, but by morphing a spire to open or close it. I havent seen this done and it easier than keeping track of some civilian or having something run over a beacon when you dont want it to. As far as I know I did it First.
Since the Cities cant die and they have invincible photon cannons, I made a way for them to be taken over, which is almost exactly how the starcraft version of risk works, or atleast close. Once the enemy has no more men at the city and you control the most units at that city, you gain control of it.
Units: there are no flying units except Nazgul, Giant Eagles (Not sure how im gonna work them in yet) a Blind Observer for massing only, and a unit representing the 'The Eye' (
No Arbiters!! so cheap and not acurate at all
).
I think thats all Ive got done for now, or I might of forgotten something dont know, but
FEED BACK IS MOST WELCOME!!!!!!!!!!You can also email me at

I was wondering if anyone knows a way of making a trigger for when a bulding isnt in any location??? without listing all the locations.
