We live in a world full of laws and so many different rules on different nations of our world. It is said we are born free yet we dont feel free because were still enslaved to live by laws set by government of our nations. Sure some laws are needed yet some are just stupid. We are not free, were just public servants in a non-free world. We cannot have freedom of speech without someone calling police stop our public protests. Everytime someone has a opinion to stand up to something wrong always knocked down before have there say. What is freedom? If we cannot experience for ourselfs. Many may say we have freedom but only to a point. Were just slaves to this world doing all hard work while someone else gets rich off our labor of work. Why is it were all equal on this earth yet different laws set for different levels of people, Non-Rich people, Rich Peopel then Government. It should be one law for all and equal freedom too all. Maybe this just my opinions on how things are but its just me. What are yours? What do you feel about this?
Certain things limit our freedom, basically because it has to for the world we live in now to actually work. We embrace diversity, but for that we must make some sacrifices to make sure no one gets out of line and to make the society civilized.
Do you think real freedom would be the ability to go out in the street and shoot anyone you want, or steal anything you want, or just strip naked down the street yelling I LOVE EGGS?
As far as I know, you have to do something wrong in a protest to be arrested, I'm sure if you did it completely peacefully then they couldn't touch you, if not enlighten me to as how our laws work.
Equality and diversity can't be accomplished together perfectly.
One thing I think we can agree on though is that, there has to be some sort of boundary to keep people in check. It is just that there are some laws that are absurd and severly limit the boundary to a point where it shouldn't, or that some laws aren't enforced enough.
Lol, Sure we need some laws, but that isnt point. Government trys control us more then we think. Set one point in school, learn and get a job. Never taught us real things about life and laws and freedom. Sometimes we have learn hardway even if means going too jail. But stripping down street saying i love eggs, nothing wrong with that can be Freedom of art express your feelingd for eggs. But shooting someone isnt a good thing. More a hate crime against a human being. Yes we have limits of freedom but limits kinda make us zombies like rest of world living by rules. Some rules ment to be bent others r not, like shooting someone. We all have our own opinions of this devilesk but i think world should have all same rules / money that way no confusen when you travel around world. Although this would be much of freedom if it happen.
Well stripping and saying I love eggs isnt very decent which is why I think we have a law against that. It's the same reason why we have clothes.
Why is shooting someone bad, but stripping saying I love eggs isn't?
Its opinionated right and wrong. It's all about your beliefs. That's why I think there are so many different countires, each with their own culture. Most people would like to be with people who share the same beliefs as other places. That is why there are different laws and such in different places.
I think having same everything around the world would limit us even more! That would severely limit cultures and religions in where some laws are "bent" around them.
Also I think it's the travelers responsibility to understand the culture and place they are going to so they don't offend anyone. The other countries with laws shouldn't change their rules and things they live by just because outsiders don't understand them. You could think of it as letting them have the freedom to create their own understanding of what "limiting freedom" means.
Naw, because our freedom is still limited by the laws of the way the world works
For example: Omg my freedom is limited because I can't fly like a bird! Damn this gravity.
Yes, as I said, if we had true freedom and choice on what we could do, it would be chaos.
You should have the right to do anything you want, as long as it doesn't harm others or their property.

thats pretty much what we have now....kinda... the part that gets screwed up is on deciding what is exactly property, what hurts it, and what is hurting others. If i said, i like eggs, myabe that is hurting someone elses feelings who doesnt like eggs, and arent there feelings their property so my saying i like eggs is hurting them and therefore should be agaisnt the law????
now i know this is extreme but our government was founded on the ideal of freedom as long as it doesnt hurt others and their property, it's just greed and peopls opinions of what hurting others and what their property is, has gotten in the way. thuys the system we have now is the way it is.
"Man is born free, and everywhere he is in chains" -Rousseau
Hey, talk to the french, they are real good about shooting at mass peaceful protesters in Africa.
They laws we have now, are to protect us from each other, and to protect ourselfs. Thats it. I don't see anything wrong with those laws.
Of course there are some flaws in laws, they can never be "Perfect". But if they do get out of control, It's patriotic time for me. (Grabs Rifle) Next Racist peice shit I see is getting shot through the eyes.
I think that all of those laws that adress risk are complete idoicy. Many of the laws made are simply ways of giving certain people power over others. One of the major reasons that america was so great when it was originally made was because the average man could own a gun. Back then this meant a lot more than simply being able to protect himself. This meant that he could choose to wage war against the nation. There was never a law that said that the people could not rise up and overthrow the government. But much of these original idea have changed because the rich white christians who run our society do not want to lose power. They made changes in those laws, or simply in the definition of those same laws. This has changed what was once a free country into something else. (Sorry if any of this is incorrect or offensive I was half asleep when I wrote it, and am writing off of memory of things we learned a while back in history)
Britain owned america, and didn't have that much control over america besides trade and tax. Hence the Boston Tea party and the saying "No taxation with out representation"
Any men could have a gun and back then, a gun was much more then a gun. They actually used it to hunt and eat. To Protect their farms and family. And to defend against wild animals. Now a days a gun isn't as important to a civilian as it was back then.
And right now there are laws saying Americans can own fire arms, and over throw the government if it is too tyrannical. Thats funny, theres a law that says its ok to revolt if the government is too tyrannical, or doesn't do what the majority people want it to do.
Ya, I do agree on the part where White Christian type people don't want to lose power. (Keep in mind, the 20 year old Racists of the 60's still have some power in our senate, as do their some of their children. No sources on that, more of an educated guess.) America is supposed to be a Democracy, not a Theocracy. And theocracies can suck my

. Every....single....last.....one of them.

If the country ever gets way too tyrannical, I'm gonna call you up. We're gonna go politician hunting.
At the beginning of writing this, I had about two paragraphs. All that was circular logic, so I baleted it and started over with a simple phrase:
freedom is not physical, it is more spiritual. Not religous spiritual, more like how you feel and how you react. Rules don't apply in human nature, and the ones that do are general guidelines. People who look at the rules and see what they can't do are generally pessimistic.
I feel the only real freedom (politically) you have is what you think. Remeber, freedom and democracy in America is a privilege given to you by the government; in effect, you have free speech and a Bill of Rights because the government wants to have it.
From a spiritual point of view, it goes along with the "what you think is free" thing. There are few places where artificial law doesn't apply in human nature. In civilization, while the spiritual freedom is a good idea that many people endorse, in practice, it is less of a "reality" as the real aspect of freedom is simply just another part of what the government allows you to do. Yes, laws are meant to give people power, and if they are just/oppressive laws, then either good or too bad and suck it up, as freedom is a privilege to me, not a right.

You're right on everything except the part where "our freedom is a privilege given to us by the government." It's more like, "The government's control of some of our freedom is a privilege given to them by we the people."
Has anyone ever played any of those zombie games or pretty much any other RPG. They create empty room or just lock the doors so no matter how much you try to avoid it you still end up where they want you to go. Thats kind of what life is like. They set laws, rules, and limitations so that now matter how much we run from it we still end up in the same spot no matter if it take 5 minutes or 5 years.
We'd be englufed in a constant state of chaos.
But i was thinking, since we have religious freedom–
What if you sacrificed people(them willing), but it was a part of your religion, is it against the law? No, according to your religion, your god wants you to be sacrificed. And with freedom, we can have that religion. But if it's wrong, then we are not free!
No we could not do that because even though we have the freedom of religion and assembly, the metting cannot conflict with any laws such as anyone becoming hurt or killed(yes even if willingly) that would violate the bill of rights because of the fact that the bill of rights says even in the name of the freedom, The Freedom of Peaceful Assembly
are you saying the death sentence is ilconsititutional? It also says those rights are revoke if you prove to be a complete ass about all of it.
The death sentence is a usefull tool we have in this country, it helps empty our prisons and it saves us money.
Ya, I say only let the guy live if you're gonna use him for psychological experiments. If not, cook him.
That's nice, i hope you get executed.
