Staredit Network -> StarForge -> Create Unit With Properties Help

The "Create Unit With Properties" (CUWP) action was never fully completed in Starforge. Starforge does not have support for creating or editing unit properties for this action. The only thing you can do is change the properties slot that the action uses.

What's a slot? Glad you asked. Every map has exactly 64 "slots" for unit properties for the CUWP action. The action itself only stores the index of the slot that it's using. This index is the number you see in Starforge when you look at a CUWP action. This number has nothing to do with the actual properties being used.

OK, so how do you use it? You need a program that allows you to edit these slots. SE/SCXE will let you do it implicitly by creating a CUWP action and specifying some properties. CUWP Slot Editor is a program just for editing these slots. TrigEdit (for SCMD) also lets you edit them, I think. Once you've created a few triggers that use unit properties, open up the map in Starforge and look at the triggers you just created.

To make a new CUWP action in Starforge and use one of the existing property slots, just re-use one of the numbers from the triggers created in the external program.

This helps alot, maybe you SHOULD finish the CUWP action *wink wink*

Considering you had to make a whole sticky thread for it! ohmy.gif

So could you have more than 64 properties with this by reusing the "1" or whatever? That would be cool for having to repeat the same properties and it not letting you!

I didn't ask tongue.gif

Anyway, awesome job heimdal if most of the users understand that (no offense to anyone)

Yes. You can have as many triggers as you like use the same slot, but you can't have more than 64 unique properties.

Geo I think that your explanation was nice...however, I have to get that editor whenever you get one...just write back or tell me on BW. And then we can do some searching...

SO basicaly slot one can be like Invinciable and then in every Property that you want the people Invincible you can jsut type a 1? Or Do you need to use the 64 different slots for each individual trigger?

Different triggers can share slots if that's what you're asking..

Uh use a differnt editor laugh.gif? That's a solution but If you're a hardcore starforge fan then you can try experimenting. Also I dont think i have a trouble with cloaking problems, or invincibility.Try downloading the latest versions.

It could be a very powerful option that lets you use over the 64 create units with properties limit that imposed on sc (which I find to be silly).

Essentially you can create a burrowed zergling with one CUWP slot, and then reuse this CUWP slot for every unit you want to create burrowed. This means that you can essentially use only one CUWP slot for every single burrowed unit you want to create on the map giving you unlimited CUWP slots.

yupp i agree with Kamikaze, sf is my editor of choice but its still got alot of stuff not finnished, like the pylon aura and the creep and unit vision and stuff like that. 2 tell u the truth the first time i treid sf i thought it was messed up cuz those things didnt work. **sigh** ah... but those were back in my noob days. i think new mappers would definatley choose sf over xtra or scmd if u finnish stuff up. lol but no rush. smile.gif
