Story
The droid army is attacking the Republic Capital, Coruscant, in hoping to destroy the Republic. The Knights of the Republic (Jedi) are called to protect the Queen and destroy the droid army.

Playable Characters
Anakin Skywalker (later in the game, Darth Vader)
Unit: Zealot (later, Fenix Zealot)

Yoda
Unit: Devouring One (Zergling)

Obi-Wan Kenobi
Unit: Zeratul (Dark Templar)

Mace Windu
Unit: Dark Templar

Darth Tyrannus
Unit: Tassadar

General Grievous
Unit: Torrasque (Ultralisk)

You can also play as the attacking droid army and Coruscant. Units are spawned just like in LotR maps.

Hehe, you should make Yoda an Overlord without the speed upgrade, with the option of "uber mode", THEN he turns into a devouring one!

Because Yoda has a disarming exterior: old, fragile, slow, i.e., overlord. However, when you finally see him fight (when I saw SW II and the movie got to the Yoda fight scene, the entire theater CHEERED), it's like, OMFG THE OLD MAN JUST WENT INTO BEAST MODE!!11!ALT-19

Did you see yoda fight in the movies? He goes flying and moves very fast. No need to think he is slow and stuff until he fights. He only walks slow.

Yoda is a tiny, very agile person. Just because he walks slow doesn't mean he's slow in combat.

Anyways, the Beta Version should be released very soon. I just need to find all the bugs in the map.

I don't know why, but I can't stand games that take place in futuristic settings or even modern times. I like historical times... no technology...

Geez. I love SW. I almost finished a map about the attack on Hoth. I ought to see your map. Can't wait untill you post it.

Been a while since i posted...

Anyway, sounds good, just wondering, do the driods get any type of hero? or like some sort of special abilities? Having units just mass the enemy is stupid...A COMPUTER COULD DO THAT! make some abilities for droids if you haven't alrdy blink.gif

What I was suggesting was use PCFredZ suggestion of having Yoda slow when not in combat, and then being able to enter "combat mode". Except, instead of using an Overlord, I was suggesting to use a High Templar.

Of course, if you did it that way, then Yoda would have to have some sort of advantage to being in slow mode, otherwise people would be in combat mode all the time. I was thinking when not in combat mode, Yoda could command elements of the Republic Army.

He could coordinate Orbital Strikes, or command a wing of Gunships while in command mode.

For example, in commander mode, Yoda could get 12 Republic Gunships under his command, allowing for more precise attacks than the Courasaunt player could afford, because they have to be doing alot of macromanagement.
When not in Commander Mode, these Gunships could be returned to the Corasaunt player.

Just some suggestions, it doesn't mean you have to listen to them. Good luck with your map.

Not any bugs i noticed, but there were a few wierd things..
1)The terrain was very bland, i didn't like it at all. It's just an open field...What is stoppping the soldiers from simply spreading out or trying different formations? Nothing, i really didn't like the terrain.
2)Balancing? Alot of the game wasn't balanced really fairly, windu can't be seen but when he is the units kick the crap out of his shields and armor. I tried attacking a defence post with 2 partners and we died in seconds, we didn't even have time to decide to run.
3)The player versus player battles were really quick. One hero would die in about 3 seconds, 4 or less hits. It was really kinda boring just playing so quick, and after people died they would just leave game. Making the game very boring because sooner or later you would be playing with no opposition.

Besides those 3 things the game was ok. I enjoyed it overall but basically it just went by so fast, and there were not many things unique about the map, so i didn't really feel a yurning to play it. But anyway that's my feedback for you, enhance terrain and make gameplay more worthwhile.

Yeah, to be honest, it took me about 2 hours to make it. I haven't really done anything that took a long time on it. In the full versions, I was planning to make it..fun. Currently, I'm thinking of ways to improve everything, such as making the Droids and Coruscant as computer players, but with the LotR-type spawning, I decided I wasn't going to. Anyways, here are some things I'm working on..

Terrain
For terrain, I'm not really good at it, and I'm hoping to get somebody to do it for me (If interested, message me).

Level System
Adding a new level system to improve the way of upgrading will help hero balance..sort of..not really. A certain amount of kills gives you 1,000 Minerals, which you can either:
+1 Attack Upgrade
+4 Armor Upgrade
Something like that..

Unit Balance
I'm going to make it so that the regular units that the two main forces spawn can't own heroes very quickly, but that when they're upgraded fully, heroes have to upgrade armor to survive and endure damage. Ghost damage will be accounted with the range and speed of attacks, as well as Marines. Tanks, who will eventually become stationary, and Cannons will not do as much damage; Cannons will be able to damage heroes slightly giving them time to escape when in danger and kill off opposing armies.

Hero Balance
Heroes damage and quality will be based on their role and strengths in the film, such as the Sith being stronger than those of the Jedi. Although the Jedi can have more heroes than the Sith, the Sith should be able to fight back against their heroes and have equality on the battlefield.

That's basically it for now, until I get more ideas or suggestions.

The weapon:armor ratio minerals need to be worked on a bit. Also, Yoda sucks as zergling. All other heroes have at least 100 armor, cutting his damage to nothing, since he relies on speed and not power. Note that the hero Zeratul DT attacks faster then normal DTs, giving him an advantage. The cannons are fine though, the Jedi and Sith alone shouldn't be able to take them out, they need the cover of the Droids and Clone Troopers. And yes, terrain needs work. Your fortification system needs work, as I built one academy and my spawn barely increased, I had to build it two more times just to get 2 vultures. SCVs should come back if killed too. Arbiters damage too much, and they have a large shield and hp portion, allowing them to pick off tanks when they have cover. Darth Tyrannus is also a bit too slow, I'd like to see him gain a transport that isn't strong enough to get past the defenses, but moderately strong to take a hit or two.

i have good news and bad news

Good News!!!
vBeta 1.1 has came out, including:

Better terrain
New "camp" place thing (lets the game be a lot longer)
Added new units (Destroyer Droid and Republic AT-TE Goliaths)
Heroes don't have shield any more
Darth Tyrannus now has a shuttle

the bad news...
the bad news is, the Full version wont be released next month.
It'll be released in a few days! dance dance party!

Keep looking here for the release of v1.0 and for vBeta 1.1 later, im not at my house.

You could actually make Yoda as a devouring one, and have a burrowed defiler or something attached to him when he walks, that makes him alot slower. and then when he's coming close something (Like 3x3 squares or something) or someone that is an enemy, move the defiler to a spot, and when he's not in a fight, move it to him again.

And I could help you with your map, as a terrainer. If you message me we could come up with something.

ok well i played vBeta and im sorry to say but.....it sucked, it was downright making Star Wars AotR look good, but then again AotR wasnt tht bad but still, and i think ALL the heros should have shuttle's and like the other dude said the terrain was just plain, plz also note tht i havnt looked at the new 1.1 version yet. anyway but higher ground in it and use like "EVERY" unit u can, and i mean all of them. wit the terrain it would be amazing game and anakin is kinda confusing, wat side is he on?!?!?

You obviously need a boost in intelligence, or you should pay more attention. Anakin is allowed to be either on the light side or the dark side at the beginning of the game, he can choose.

That is one of the stupidest things I've ever heard. I admit, he does need diversty in units, but using every unit is just stupid. You wouldn't send critters or flying units would you? Since it'd make it unfair, since it'd make it easy to strike places unaccessible to the ground units. You have to take in account balancing issues.
