As I was working on a mod and going to post a topic wether as to anyone wanted to help and join in here at SEN but then I thought where I would post such a topic. And this counts as MOD making not map making.

Any ideas?

SEN does not directly support Mod Making.

If you want to make any kind of thread related to mods it would have to be in the garbage Forum.

Wouldn't it go in the Staredit Related & Freelancers forum based on this quote?

We don't support modding as of yet. If you are looking for sites that do, I would suggest one in here or Warboards.

Awww ok...

It sounds as if we completely discourage mods.

Well if I am serious about mods I wouldnt post it in garbage so the closest thing right now would be staredit related & freelancers. I hope mod support comes soon cause it would be awsome to a\have a big group project working on some totoal conversion or something.

Hmm. I may consider starting up our modding section slowly, by initially hosting small mods and having forum cat for it... we'll see.

If you need mods for that database... I got 28 of them. A mix of Mods and Total Conversions... of course a good number of them are not totally complete... but some are more or less to certain degrees tongue.gif .

You guys have to remember, I know absolutely nothing about modding. If theres going to be submittions, assistance, and discussion, it will have to be all you guys.

I'd welcome a Modding fourm section on SEN. There really aren't too many other places for SC modding...

(Blizzforum's SC mapping/modding section is ... disgust.gif (half-dead), Warboards' mapping/modding section is inactive, Campaign Creations cares nothing about SC anymore... and basically, all the other SC sites are nowhere near as large as SEN.)

Well modding closely relates to mapping in various ways. I don't see why not. I could attempt to finish 3PP and submit it. We could also host the BW AI Project by Racine_.

Considering that Automodder might be realeaced at some point in the future, you should probably have a modding forum come with SEN v5. If there is a mele maps forum (which gets very little traffic) then I see no reason why there shouldn't be a modding forum.
Maybe Tearshed should be the entropy of the modding forum. I also heard BSTRhino is also very into modding. Maybe he could run it or something...

I suggest one general forum, then if that becomes active throw up some more.
But the most I could ever think of is three forums for modding.

They'll probably be more active than melee, anyway. smile.gif

I'd welcome a Modding forum here on SEN as well. I've a few mods I'd like to release on here, so I'd like to be one of the first to contribute.

And yes, I know that Campaign Creations doesn't give a shit about Starcraft anymore. They're so absorbed in Warcraft III that they don't even consider posting SC-related content on their site anymore; they might as well become a pure WC site. It's sickening.

Starcraft.org used to host mods, but they took them down, and SCLegacy? Well, they don't concern themselves w/ maps and mods, I'll tell you that much.

modding also opens up a completley new world of glitches, my favorite being the too fast one.

I read somewhere at Blizzard.com that they do not care at all about modding, as long as it is for personal and non-commercial use.

I know quite a bit about modding and my first knowledge came from stormcoast fortress tutorial. I would love to be the mod. for the mod forum thx happy.gif. True being the most popular SC site (us) at the moment so more of the SC community will come to SEN if we supported modding.

Good luck. smile.gif

We used to have a private forum for them...
What happened to it? Ugh.
