well i havnt really been very active on SC for the past 2-3 years. I was into mapmaking a little in the past but more so with melee maps. So what kind of map should i make to help get started into map making. I know most of the basics and i could prolly do most of the advanced stuff with the tutorials.

What kind of map would help me in the future with more advanced maps and triggers. And what kind of map would be easiest to make, and i dont mean any kind of movie UMS maps. I mean maps which can be played

well to start i would make some melees just to get aquainted with StarEdit. Then i would gradually make more and more complicated maps with more and more triggers. then you should beable to move to very complicated maps with tons of triggers and such. good luck!! cool1.gif

Defenses/Bounds have easy triggering to get started, and they are played pretty often (Even though bounds are hated on SEN, they are played quite a bit publicly).

i could prolly do a bound easy, and same for defense maps regarding triggers. The only problem i think i would have with triggers is getting the right ratio of enemy HP and unit attack damage so its not really hard or really easy

Just play around with triggers and terrain a bit in some test maps, figure out what everything does. After that, it's practice, practice and practice!

The easiest way to get used to triggers and finding new ways of using them is by finding an unprotected map and refering to their triggers as a refrence while creating your own map.

just make 5 melee maps to get in touch with terrain. Then make 1 campaign to get in touch with triggers and locations. Keep on practicing with campaigns. The, when you are ready, make a rpg. if that rpg is good, do whatever map you want to. If it sucks, keep on practicing on it.
